    Leaked ip? getting ddossed

    Hey guys,

I use to stake alot, recently someone must have found my ip adress somehow, my 1.1xer got ddossed twice... I put his name on my ignore list, but he used another (rental) account this time.
Luckily I won these last stakes, but I am very worried.

It happened earlier to me when I rented an maxed account, proof:

Few hours later my friend gets ddossed same way with obs range staking 1b.
He sent me this pic after that lose, the guy is adving knifing 1b.
    Gyazo - 096c73ff47567981cce5648b81c2d079.png

He said to me it could been leaked with twitch, the thing is, both our IP's are leaked and what can we do now? The ddosser can just rent another acc to ddoss me. Can I change my Ip somehow?

If you know anything pls let me know <3

    Greetings

Unless your ip is on a dhcp (dynamic host protocol) which is away your internet changes ip every time you disconnect your router. The only way to change your ip is to ring your internet company and request.

I don't think it was the leak on your twitch it was most likely like that a ts or skype or something like that.

Just so i don't look like an idoit dhcp (Dynamic Host *Configuration* Protocol) Sometimes I type to quick and miss words. It just a fancy word for a Dynamic ip. it changes all the time while static stays the same.

As I understand, I'll face the same problem using dynamic IP. Does this mean that I have no possibility to use vpn services while gaming, considering the fact that they appoint different IPs while connecting to the server?

if you're on a static ip pretty much the only thing you can do is call up your isp provider to ask for a new ip and hope they feel generous and give you one. theres multiple ways for your ip to leak e.g database leaks , skype or teamspeak as a broken man mentioned before. a vpn will only change your visible IP so lets say you are connected to the vpn but your own ip gets hit you will still dc as it will break ur network connection.

Reccomend maybe getting a dynamic ip because database breaches are really easy to access nowadays and people can also get your ip through skype.

Getting someone's IP through Skype is no longer possible right? I mean as in without having direct contact with them (e.g. a Skype call). Some Skype resolvers just give out old details if I'm not mistaken: Skype now hides your IP address to protect against attacks from online trolls

So basically I keep having this problem even after changing the IP, I am very sure this is because the ddosser has me added on skype (idk who it is).
Is there any way to hide your IP while using skype? Or should I quit using skype :/

Alright so this is in regards to Skype and IP addresses.

    January 2016 Skype announced

Now it seems that the update is in place but a couple people are still able to resolve their own IP Addresses. I think this tends to happen people who have not yet updated Skype but there could be other reasons.

Here is another precaution you can take.

Skype > Tools > Options > Advanced > Connections then adjust your settings to this.

I don't think his problem can be solved simply by turning off his modem. Getting a new ip from the DHCP server probably wouldn't be of much help because I think they all have the same network address, it is only the host address that would change (similar network addresses in the subnet). If they are attacking his gateway I think it would affect all of the DHCP leases. Using a VPN won't do anything after the fact (if they already have his network address). If they hit his gateway, he won't even be able to establish a connection with the VPN in the first place :p Plus even if he could use a VPN, he wouldn't want to. No staker wants that lag.
