Moderator Application Req. Update

Seasonal greetings fellow users of Sythe.

We are currently in dire need of a requirement update to become a staff member on Sythe


Suggest Change: If you've ever had a DNT or Ban for scamming and repay your victims to be unbanned you should not be allowed to apply for staff.

Currently a good bit of the staff members have scammed before, that's a pretty scary thought, this should be changed ASAP.


This should also be added to the OMM requirements

How can someone who has scammed in the past be trusted with the OMM rank?

 

As of yet, we don't do conditional pardons so a pardoned member is treated like a normal member. Moreover, if staff decides to pardon a user, it means that they deem him or her safe enough to be on the website.

As a side note, some of the best staff members on this website were pardoned for scamming.

 

Ok, so they can be trusted to be in the community, but to be a staff member? No you shouldn't, and you can't just say "oh some of the best staff members were scammers" That's a fallacy and an opinion how can you use that in your argument?

 

I absolutely disagree and hope an administrator denies this.

The majority of the staff team has been banned for scamming then pardoned/let back.

I 1000000000000000000000000% disagree.

The entire pardon system revolves around being let back in with a clean slate, sythe DOES NOT punish users that have pardoned, pardons are CLEAN SLATES. You are a new, fresh member of the community and have been forgiven of your wrong doings.

I cannot think of a way that would undermine what the entire pardon system is meant to be more than this suggestion, I highly disagree.

I've met ban evaders and DNT users who I would consider to be better people than some people who are non-dnt on sythe.

I hate this suggestion tbh.

You are entitled to your opinion, though it's a bad opinion.

How can you trust someone to moderate a forum or be an OMM who has scammed in the past?

I handle over 6,000-8000 euros a day, under this rule I technically wouldn't qualify to be staff because I was banned for scamming a RSPS phat back when I was 13 years old which had no monetary vaule what-so-ever which I was later pardoned for.

Dave wouldn't qualify, nor would many of the best staff this site has ever seen.

You might aswell toss out the pardon system if you plan to undermine it this way.

 

Scamming is scamming, doesn't matter when it's done. Sure you can pardon and get your ban removed but again, should not be trusted to moderate or middle man trades.

 

This will never happen.

In addition to shin denying this im also going to point out my situation where a close friend of mine who introduced me to sythe went on my account to scam people of which I was banned and pardoned for. If we are using your logic I should be denied staff, not because of scamming other people, but for my lack of account safety.
