Clear & Sort-able Buying/Selling/Trading on thread title

So.. I'm aware it's generally considered bad form to refer to other sites.. & I won't name it unless asked..

But it's extremely convenient that every thread is titled with the same consistent tags..

If you want to look for buyers only.. click any thread title with Buying & it filters all threads with Buying

Currently it's just the wild wild west here it seems.. some people write Selling.. some say WTS.. some try a little harder & do (S) or (B).. some indicate nothing in the title..

As a marketplace.. it's awesome to be able to sort by type of transaction imho

Attempting to use the search feature on any particular section isn't really adequate.. since a lot of users don't label at all or the title labels are so diverse it'd be challenging to seek them all out.

Damn BB code messed with me when i didn't want to use it.. lol

 

i honestly dont see what ur getting at, for example there are certain sections for certain things, like buying gold, selling gold, accounts are sorted by types, you cant post buying threads in the selling section and you cant post selling threads in the buying section

unless im misinterpreting things it seems to have a pretty solid setup sofar

Currently here.. take a look at the Xbox Live type section for example.. there is no order.. it's chaos.. just a bunch of random buy & sell threads without any sorting..

I go into a WoW Accounts section for example where buy & sell threads are both present..

The 1st picture is with no sorting or filtering of any kind..

The 2nd is an example of okay I'm just looking for buyers.. because I want to sell

ahh okay i see now the confusion, you are meaning the sections other game markets, and other markets. and i was thinking the runescape markets.

id support this, looks like a good way to go about things, along with the buy/sell tags. if things were to be like the runescape market in all the other markets, it would just be too many subforms etc.

i feel like this would help users navigate the other markets more easily, but there are too many topics in ever single section in the form without the buy/sell tag already. and if you click on title Gyazo - 7da1162f92efdc0cda1a3b5c80429d41.png it sorts threads alphabetically

so id support, its a great idea but we also have something along those lines already and may be a waste of time.

edit: sorry was unclear, it would be a waste of time unless its forced in market, as people will just make their title whatever they want regardless of the tags.

I wouldn't suggest new subsections either though that isn't the point.. the Tag IDs is the only thing needed..

As far as the amount of threads that exist now.. no problem.. leave'm..

If it were something that did get implemented either a new rule could be made or really.. to save the mods & even the community time & effort it could just be a requirement to create any thread in the marketplace..

A hard requirement too as in if you didn't choose a tag & attempted to create it would fail & say please choose a tag :-D

 

would be nice if we had a toggleable box that prompts you for a "buying"/"selling"/"swapping" tag when creating a new thread in the market forums - i'd support that kind of addition

 

I would love for a tag interface to be implemented due to its possibilities across the forum, overall ability to trim down sections, and convenience in searching without creating a sub forum.

I believe the only hindrance is that is not the current setup of the forum (I discussed similar setup for off topic with big rich and that was the draw back)

If it's feasible, then yes, definite support
