24-hour time format

Hello,
I've made a quick forum settings research and did not find an option to change time format to 24H.
My suggestion is to add an option to choose between 12H and 24H time format.
Or, please, guide me on how to do this if it's been already implemented.

What benefit would it be to our administrators already limited time to do this?

I'm not saying it would be hard to do, but it seems there's no real reason to do this as the majority of people usually go off of a 12 hour clock.

 

I'm not sure that's a kind of feature someone should 'benefit' from. That's a matter of convinience and habit, same as interface language.

Did you create a poll to see the concrete results of time format people got used to? Any country statistics for Sythe users? Your words about majority and minority sound groundless to me to be honest.

You've also left out the quote right below it, which states that English speaking countries predominantly use the 12 hour clock. As Sythe is very obviously English based I don't see how non English countries and how they display clocks would have any weight on this topic.

 

I honestly don't see why people keep saying, "we don't want to waste staff resources" or "admins have limited time." Just do it. It can't be that hard and prob already an add on or part of xen.

Sounds like such a cop out lol. Adding simple, small features like this requested by the community is great.

I don't think it'd require any real effort on coding lol. I'm sure there's an option where you can make it 24 hours. Support to have this implemented for our global users.

There currently is an option, however it doesn't work. It's been like that ever since the release of Xen. I suggest creating a Bug Tracker ticket so that once Matthew gets the chance, he'll apply the fix.

 

And if your bug tracker is broken? Mine doesn't work ;(

Not sure then. Mine is working just fine. Perhaps you could Matthew/Sythe a PM to see if he can come up with a solution.

 

PMed them both, Sythe told me he would hand it over to Mathew a few months ago and I pmed Mathew myself a couple weeks ago and gave him what he needed. No fix/reply back though ;(
