Name Release Begins 13th March

Not sure why they're choosing to do it a letter at a time. Anyways, I don't have any names in particular I'm going for, but good luck to those of you that do.

Some more information:

• A name will be released if it is "2 years inactive (i.e. not logged in) on an account which has had membership in its past, or 6 months on a f2p account" - Source: Name release went out without a broadcast? • r/runescape

Apparently when they did it all at once last time it crashed their servers. No name here specifically, but I know the good ones will be sniped. Gl To you.

 

What do you mean sniped? I thought the names don't belong to anyone since jagex are releasing them?

 

Sniped as in the same people here who lurk our Names Sales section have an "auto clicker" of sorts that hovers a name, so with that noted these dudes will have that same program on names being released so that they can sell them under the pretense that they "weren't sniped" from another user aka they can get full value instead of 1/4-1/2 for being scum.

 

Does this include banned accounts? As in only said "names of inactive accounts"

Looking to try and get a few myself, but its going to be insane and chances are ill be at work and wont matter.

 

Good luck everybody, i'll probably be asleep when they release the names but if not i'll try and get at least one name.

 

This includes some banned accounts. Accounts with rare names that were banned for things such as RWT however will not be released. All of the names have already been freed up they just haven't released them yet.

 

Do we know an exact time?

Are you able to claim the names on brand new accounts or must it be existing ones with members??

 

Good point. On the site it says, "To claim a name, you must be a RuneScape Member...", so I'm guessing it has to be an existing account with p2p.

Seems like a good ploy for Jagex to make some extra money.

 

Does anyone know if they'll release larger batches of names down the road? Does this "one-name-at-a-time"-principle only apply to the one-letter names?

 

So names like fishy wont be able to be sniped basically. I know shit loads of banned accounts with 2 letters, this will benefit me a ton.
