Legalizing drugs makes matters worse. The initial problem would be that if you legalize it that it will increase drug use and commence a regime. It would make the drugs cheaper, more accessible and would eventually lead to a fuck fest. Alcoholism is already a problem that affects countless relationships, how many do you think will be ravaged if drugs became legal?

That is not what I was saying. I am saying that we already have an existing problem why make additional problems that would be destructive to society?

Drugs should not be legalized, it's evident as to why.
Drugs simply create problems which effect society in several ways. Your idea to legalize drugs is wrong and far from logical. Treatment and addiction rates would rise, education would be adversely affected with students popping drugs like they're candy. Accidents and deaths from impaired driving would increase. Are you also forgetting about the environmental damage that would trail?

Also how about all the progress we made throughout history in fighting drug use? All these government agencies that combat drug use, would we just abandon our efforts?

 

Idiots like you are the reason people die like this. Not making drugs legal creates a black market, it's like trying to regulate/censor the internet. It does not work. At all. Ever. It's been proven with prohibition.

The only logical (and proven) way to go about is what Amsterdam does - legalize drugs.

I would like to take a glimpse of your sources of this so called empirical evidence if you don't mind. I have done countless research on this subject matter and have verity behind my arguments. Prohibition failed because there was not an abundant supply of federal agents and at the time the police were often vulnerable to bribes. At the end of day though, the real reason prohibition didn't work was because nearly half of the adult population wanted to carry on with drinking, I can assure you that not even a quarter of the current adult population would support the legalization of drugs.

I am interested in knowing why you support the legalization of drugs, do you have a drug dependency yourself?

If you would like to have an insightful debate about this outside of the SF, I'm more than delighted to.
