Reformatting of "Other Games" Markets and automatic tagging

This suggestion is to help the site attract new users to markets that are currently either absent or "hidden"/tucked away. One thing that drives this suggestion is SEO, if you currently Google something like Buy DoTA2 Accounts sythe is no where to be found, and that is the same with a lot games that sythe could be attacting customers for.

Another thing that plays into this is Tags which mandatory tags were suggested here: Mandatory thread tagging

What I am suggesting in this aspect is to implement automatic tags based on what section a post is made in @Blupig could something like this be implemented. Basically if you made a post in rs3 gold selling tags related to gold selling would automatically be added. That way it's not mandatory but it's already there.... Meaning lazy users don't have to add the tags themselves. This could be done for every section, I know it's a lot of work but the Pr team could assist with the making of the tags for every section if that is a factor.

Automatic tags would greatly help with SEO as @Blupig already suggested. I think it's something that could help unpopular sections grow.

Second part of the suggestion is the reformatting of other games market.

I have talked with @Shin in the past about this topic and what we both brainstormed, and credit to shin for this, but there should be an entire "Steam Market place"

Steam Market

-CS:GO
-DOTA 2
-TF2
-Steam accounts
-Steam other
(Trading cards, codes, games, ect.)

Open to add other sections but this should be the minimum to help attract more users to the site, along with SEO.

Terrific addition to my idea, I like the default tags thing.

 

This is a fantastic idea, never knew tags helped with Google SEO, thought it only helped with on-site searching via searchbar.

 

Good idea for auto tags for each section, while I dont think users should be required to tag to post, auto tagging would work great.

 

I've brought up the SEO benefits before and I believe @Sythe intends to rework the landing page anyway in the future.

The only problem with SEO is organically it takes a while. Sythe.org is not an 'authority' site for many of the other game markets here. It is an authority for Runescape as it's been around for so long and has tens-hundreds of thousands of 'high-quality' content.

The ranked pages are often not market threads anyway as they are generally spammy and lack originality. Vendors spam keywords thinking it will improve their own rankings, when this is ultimately false.

Content regarding other games here is often the spammy sales thread content I mention above, therefore does not rank as high.

 

Good idea, tbh, i didn't know games besides runescape existed.

It is actually brilliant now that you are a moderator because you can implement this auto tagging feature without having to suggest it!
