Pokemon cards

All of the cards are playable. (Dont worry about official pokemon rules if children are going to be playing)


Check out the "evoultion" theme decks at your local walmart or whatever store. And push your child to play the online trading card game from the official pokemon website.

 

It's usually better to buy a theme deck of you want to play. They're about $15 each and it comes with a pre-built deck. The cards aren't usually that good or worth that much because it's prebuilt but if you just want to teach your son how to play it's a very good place to start. The $50 box you're talking about comes with a deck box some booster packs and other accessories it's really cool for kids if they just want to have some Pokemon stuff but if you actually want to battle with other people it'll be really hard to make a deck from just booster packs. Packs aren't really good for starting up unless you just want to open them which is fine. But it's a good idea to just buy a theme deck and if you want you can improve it with better cards that you can get from packs.

 

Starter kit > theme decks > packs > loose cards.

 

If he's just like to have some cool looking cards to keep in a binder to show off to his friends it's probably a better idea to buy him the $50 box you were talking about. Opening packs are good fun. Make sure if you get anything valuable looking do your research online and check it's value so he doesn't trade it away. Some cards are pretty damn expensive in this game. I haven't played in awhile but I'm pretty sure there's still some out there that are rare/useful. Some cards might look cheap but can be incredible good and in high demand and might actually be worth some money. Although I doubt you'd need to research anything about those because I don't think there's many cards like that out there and most times kids won't bother with those cards because they don't look appealing enough. This information might not be that useful but just make sure you teach your kid how valuable a card is so he doesn't lose it/trade it for something that isn't worth it. I just don't want ya to get screwed over because people are willing to pay a lot for trading cards nowadays.

 

When I was young I didnt really care about the cards too much most people buy sealed packs because it is exciting not knowing what you might get and knowing that any pack you open could contain something really rare. I'm not sure on the rules or anything, the only thing I can say is buying a pack or a tin or something like that would be more exciting unless hes taking it serious and wants certain cards.

 

As long as you get him a shiny Machamp you should be in the clear.

 

Never played the card game i used to collect all the cards tho Got a few old "Ex" cards here. Probably worth nothing tho.

 

I recently found a store that sells pokemon cards, the same with yugioh cards etc and I have collected a load.

I cant say they are the "old old old" ones, but they are cool looking and seem pretty interesting to say the least.

 

I have all the "old" Charizards Like the dark star, EX and all the other ones

 

id love to have a 1st ed base set charizard. Also Id like to find a machamp starter deck holo in the plastic still.
