I've been bleeding for over three hours now

Well, it's been about 3 hours since I've gotten my tooth extracted, and well, the bleeding hasn't stopped. Here I am on the computer with tissue in my mouth, and blood dripping out. The bleeding won't stop.

It's been going on for over 3 hours now, and I'm actually feeling a bit weak due to the loss of blood. Whenever my tooth falls out, I usually always bleed for a long period of time, but since this tooth has been extracted, I have no idea how long it is going to take.

So...anybody got any ideas on how to stop the bleeding? I've been rinsing my mouth with water over and over again then spitting the water out, but that doesnt really help.

 

God, having teeth removed it extremely painful.

I remember it happening to me when I was about 16.
The numb sensation is awful, too.

 

Yeah, tell me about it. This was my first tooth extracted, and it was a huge one too. It's a baby tooth, but it's HUGE.

 

Well, it'll bleed for a while, I remember when I got one taken out it did.

I was always told to rinse with warm salt water, worked I guess.

 

just keep some gauze there, sleeping was the worst part for me.

 

I heard continuously rinsing a cut is bad since it keeps re-opening it.

 

Yeah, it might bleed for more, is it just a bit like, tiny leaking or actually a bunch dripping or something? When I had my teeth pulled out for my braces, it fucking like bled for around 6 hours, seriously, no exaggeration. Just, put a paper towel, small one, or maybe a tissue between your teeth, in the gap, and let it drain the blood. Time will heaaal. At least that's what I did.

 

Not to alarm you but having a cut or something that won't stop bleeding is an early sign of leukemia. But I'm sure it's just the tooth thing like others said.

 

I got a few teeth pulled a couple years ago.

I just balled up a tissue and stuffed it on the gash.

Just keep rinsing it out and don't touch it too much, let it form a scab or whatever.

I know how you feel. I had 4 wisdom teeth pulled out when I was 12 - I wasn't even put to sleep.

 

I know a guy who got his wisdom teeth cut out and it kept bleeding for 3 days. He finally went back to so what happened and they had cut into a capilary and had to stitch it up. Woulnd't it be fun if that's the case?

 

get ice and put it on ur cheek. or go somewhere cold. the cold will help stop the bleeding loads. its very effective trust me.

 

Salt water helps as it heals the wounds. Rinse a couple times and stick to the tissue. Let's hope it stops soon.

Almost reminds of how badly I was bleeding whem I got hit by that car...

The bleeding has stopped (I hope), but I'm feeling really weak and not normal, most likely due to the loss of blood.

 

Chew on some barbed wire.
It helped me.

 

I got 4 teeth pulled in one day over the summer, the only painful part to me was the shots. And I remeber afterwards the numbness it was so annoying.
