Change resolution instead of DPI. Because your screen is 1080p, doing anything less than 1920x1080 will cause *some* blur but that is your best option without using a different screen or writing some code to resize the applet itself.

Yeah ive looked extensively into it and can't believe that my macbook pro can scale it perfectly with no blur but windows can't do it.

I literally have no incentive to have a windows computer as it can't run runescape properly.

It's a hardware thing, not a software thing. If you had OSX on your XPS you'd have the same issue. If you had a display similar to the retina display on the Mac, you wouldn't have any problems.

But say I had the MBPr display on the windows, my late 13 MBPr has a 2600x1600 screen as opposed to the 1920x1080 here shouldnt the higher resolution one have more DPI scaling issues?

Mac seems to be clear no matter how much I scale up.

What do you suggest i go for if I need a laptop only for general use/RS + CS 1.6/Source? Since I dont game other than these 2 I don't want to get a desktop. Or should i just stick to macbook?

Afaik because the screen is 2k the scaling is less apparent because you're essentially scaling it up to regular HD which still has the illusion of crispness on 13". If this is really an issue for you I'd consider maybe going down to a 1366x768 screen.

Otherwise just use OSbuddy or other resizable clients. There's no real reason to use the Jagex client.

ah ok cool. I could get a 1366x768 laptop but they're not as aesthetic as the XPS 13/macbook pro retina. Think I will just go get a new macbook.

For the purpose of doing prayerless firecapes, I find the official client has a slightly better response time than OSbuddy.

If you're willing to fork out $1.4k+ over using a free client then that's your prerogative lmao

Obviously will be getting a good resale on my current MBPr so isn't that much of an investment.

For someone who doesn't play games other than RS, W10 is absolute shit compared to OS X. Besides would rather deal with a company who doesn't have it's CS based in India ;)

I've got the same problem, you can set a custom resize of around 133% and it is slightly fixed, but it isn't as good as the real thing.

Don't use that Oldschool Runescape client. Use the OSBuddy client. I'm pretty sure you are able to resize the screen much better in OSBuddy compared to the client you are using.
