Interesting theory on god and his existance

Well the Christian god is a man like being, since he calls himself the father and jesus is supposed to resemble him.

What I find funny is that people are willing to believe in a everlasting, infinite universe that always was there but wont open there eyes to believe a god could have always been there.

Here is a question for you guys, If the big bang theory was correct then where did that matter and everythinig come from? Why is the universe at both ends very very close to the same temperature as each other?(<<Since the universe is so huge at the time of heat expanding it should not be a stable level of heat at both ends.)
If it was expanding and aways have been why isn't everything distorted? If it was always expanding and has done so for billions of years, and matter cannot be made how is that even possible? If the universe is always expanding then that means it was small and had to have came from some where and something had to have set it off, some atheists have tried to say it happens all the time that it gets big then small and explodes....creating the big bang again. If that was true show me some proof it has happened before, since all I see as yes its getting bigger but its only been like that since the beginning of time which god created.

Interesting theory on god and his existance

Ok this might not be correct but still,

If we did prove god exists, how would be ceise to exist? If we did prove he exists then he exists.. If people say "I have faith in you" and then the person succeeds in what they are doing, doesn't mean they didn't do it? It means they did.. It's the same as what you said.. If we prove it.. Then he wont exist.. Because he would exist if we could prove he exists..

^Not sure if that makes sence, but whatever.. :D

No thats right you got it right. Just he would cease to exist in faith only like people say the only way to know god is to have faith in him and his existance, but you would still have to have faith that he is going to do what he said he would, but not that he existed.

Interesting theory on god and his existance

God is a thought, a state of mind, similar to religion itself. When nobody believes in a certain religion, or God, then there is nobody to think of it therefore the thought is dead.

That's my opinion, I'm not religious, so please don't flame.
To make things a bit more simple, religion is a state of mind therefore when not "used" it doesn't exist.

Well, Thats how the non religious people think since they think the whole thing is made up. But in the mind of a religious person its very real so its not only a thought but its real.(I am a Christian.)

Indeed it is stupid to think something will cease to exist if it's very existence is proven. Say we would believe that one eyed monkies exist and somewhere in the African jungle we would find these monkeys? Would they cease to exist? No we will merely have proven it's existence. Facts really, in it's way, are just another interpretation of believing. Believing in reality that is, but that will take this thread to pointless and endless discussion so I will not beginning explaining my post-modern thoughts. You stay to your Enlightment morale ;)

gods existance wont be proven because there is nothing to be proved. God is some thing like an imginary friend. Only some people believe in him, and only those who believe in him know about him. i myself dont believe in him, but this is how i see it. And if gods existance is proven then i myself will most likely go to christianity ;)

The whole idea on the existence of God is faith in Him. So if you have faith, then it is the same as believing. But along with this qoute: "Therefore: If we prove god exists, then god will cease to exist."
Aren't all religions based on faith? So, what do we believe?

Actally that makes sence, because god isn't suppost to be some real person.. Because most religions believe he is everything and everywhere..

    Good job.. :p

Interesting theory on god and his existance

(I'll only be contradictory once, and that is fact of me posting this; because I think it's SO futile to argue the existence of God)

One couldn't prove or disprove the existence of God. If you MUST delve into this, then if God was proven, then it'd defeat the purpose of a special bond between said God and person. You'd only be believing in a God because it was PROVEN, and not because of said love/faith in it. You could argue that you'd love and believe in Him even if He never had been revealed, but you'd have no way of objectively knowing that either way. If there is an omniscient/present/potent God, He'd never allow this.

If you don't acknowledge the scientific facts of universe, then you're ignorant to the world you live in. On the other hand, what is a fact? If I'm holding a red ball in my hand, then you see and hold it, then we can both agree that it is a fact that it's red. But how do you know that my red isn't different than your red? What you see may be a hue of what we call "purple", and I may see what we call "orange", but we (and the rest of the world) understand that color to be named "red". Hope some of you got that...
My point being, all things are relevant from person to person. My right may be your wrong. There are no absolutes. That's why laws differ from state to state, and even moreso from country to country! This is how the secular world works. People are fallible, and have a plethora of different perceptions.

Now to a normal person with basic reasoning skills, the existence of God (I assume we're talking about Abraham's God) and the Bible are nonsensical and irrational. And, you'd be right ^.^ They are. They do not make logical SENSE. They both deal in absolutes. The ten commandments are absolute. (though disputable) The Bible is absolute.

If you're anything like me, then you think that there's a thin line between fairy tales fallacy and absolution. Also, you've doubted your faith, and questioned it up and down, top and bottom, and strange and charm (LOL! Physics joke...sorry...). And, all logic tells you that this shouldn't be. But something illogical tells you that there's something more. You get a weird feeling when worshipping your God. You are filled with zeal for the One you have faith exists. Does this make sense? No, not in the least. Am I crazy? Probably.
Point being, Christianity is illogical to begin with, therefore it's useless to try to convert people, or sway their beliefs, because if it doesn't make sense in the first place, so how can you try to make it work for a non-believer?! I constantly thank my God that I was blessed with this faith, because I don't know who or what I'd be without it.
Why do I believe in "fallacy"? Cuz I just do. It's what I do. Do I need to convince you that I'm a competent human? NO! I have nothing to prove to you. You'll believe what you believe anyways. And so will I!
My only job is to love all. My God will take care of the rest.
Love is a powerful thing, and can never be cheapened by shelling it out by water. It's not like gold. The more I give out, that just means a happier place ^.^
Love is not a thing to be bartered.

Another thing you all have to realize is that we're all the same. Segregation of humankind won't get you anywhere. Just because I believe that someday I'll return to a place of paradise doesn't mean you have to be an arrogant prick, and not get along with me. I'm just like you. I have the same temptations as you, the same thoughs, the same doubts, the same everything. It's a conscious decision every day that I choose to profess belief in Christ, NOT something that has been fed to me by mouth.
What if I had been born in a muslim home? A daunting question...still, I cannot answer it with true objectivity. What If I had been born into a non-molecular multiverse? Then I'd be pure energy!

Not everyone thinks the universe is infinite and eternal. I don't think either are true.

For your first point, we can't see to the end of the universe, so where did that thought come from? As for everything else, science can't answer all the questions yet. From what we know currently, the Big Bang/Crunch theory is the best explanation we have, and there is multitudes of evidence to support it.

Exactly. In your mind. Reality is a whole different story.

Boy, dpunk, must I come and caress you again? I thought I'd have put you in your place from the last debate we had about religion, from which I believe I prevailed by a landslide, if not an avalanche?

Don't make me waste my time typing away, your still a kid, and you've yet to realize the meaning of your true existence, boy. Self - Actualization is harder to find then you think, kid. Just because your some junky/redneck/hillbilly who plays the drums and guitar all day doesn't mean your going to be the next Gene Simmons.

Now, If you'd excuse me I do have better things to take care of.
By the way kid, your in a whole pile of shit, and you don't got the boots to stand in it. Now go look in the mirror at the fuck up you are and start crying in the corner, which leads you to humping your little doggie.

I wouldn't put my foot up my ass too much now, how's it feel messing with a big boy such as myself, leave the small fish for rookies, and fry the big ones is my advice.

PS- Dpunk, get a life, and look after the 10+ children you've fathered over the years with your sisters/moms.

Well then where did it begin?

Ok I said that wrong the first point isn't about seeing the end of the universe but hearing the static of the radiation of the big bang of the so called start of everything. If there is lots of evidence to support that the universe has been crunched before tell me an existing true fact please. And show me some other facts on the heat of the universe, the matter that cannot be created nor destroyed still being as good as before. And why we still have such an abundant amount of hydrogen and helium.

No its not just in my mind, If god wasnt real how does a lump of flesh and individual cells put together making an organism have feelings? Animals on the other hand can get excited sleep eat and shit...thats it really. So why are we different? Why is there a missing link out of the picture of evolution for us?

Oh so the famous "idiotic fool" with the incredibly low "intellectual IQ" is back for more eh? It seems you still haven't learned how to debate since all you post is flaming. And you say you what? Prevailed? Let me refresh your memory.

    ---------
Once again, the topic was not whether or not you should debate whether there is a God or not, it was whether the original post disproves the existence of one. Also, once again, you seem to be more adept at insults than logical thinking.

I have been posting in this thread for ages, so when someone posts claiming that a moderator who can forumban a person for not following the rules has no right to tell you if you can post here or not strikes me as a non sequitur as far as the discussion is concerned.

This is evident since you seem to be the type to cover their ears and yell "lalalalalalalalalalala I CAN'T HEAR YOU!!!!!" when someone else tries to correct them.

Once again you seem more adept to insults than logical thinking. When I said cut you're losses, I meant it as a figure of speech, which is how it's supposed to be used. It did not necessarily refer to an literal loss as in terms of competition, merely to a failure, which in this sense, you did fail to justify yourself.

I would argue that the one who makes more insults than logical conclusions would be the one to look like a cretin.

Those people would have to have a very low "intellectual IQ" to do that, now wouldn't they? Even with a low "intellectual IQ" I'm sure they would notice that "idiotic fool" is as redundant as "intellectual IQ", and that the former being true for it's original poster and the latter being lacking in it's original poster would be more than enough evidence to conclude who is the real "idiotic fool".

    ---------------

    Go home.

Another question we don't have an answer to. I think that there had to be a specific point that was a beginning though.

I'm still not getting what you're saying.

    http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/astronomy/bigbang.html

Random link I got. Looks fairly nice. I don't have the time to look over right now, but as a guess I would say it fits the bill.

I assume that you're talking about the amounts of the elements in the sun, partly because Kent Hovind mentioned that so I don't doubt other Creationists have, and partly because I have no other idea as to what you could be referring to. If you are referring to the sun, and that the argument is that there is such a large amount of hydrogen left in the sun for it to have been "alive" for billions of years, that is due to the sun's massive size. If you aren't referring to that, then just try to make it a bit clearer for me.

Ok, i think that if we prove gods existance then faith will turn to fact and everyone would know there is a god. But since we cannot prove their is a god then faith will stand and thats what religion will be based on. I heard a guy on TV say this I don't rember his name though. "If you believe in God and when you die there is no god, what have you lost? But if you believe in God and there is a god, think of everything you have gained"
