Halo 3 - Yay or Nay?

Well, the entire Halo series is a very controversial franchise. Halo 1 was not over advertised, though it was a release title with the first Xbox, many people found it for themselves, and the word spread like wildfire. Halo basically created a genre of gaming. Bungie's second in the franchise - Halo 2 - Shattered sales records for a media release. It introduced the Dual Wielding concept. Though not perfected, it was still a lot of fun, and everyone knew that Halo 2 was one of the biggest FPS games in history. Finally, the long awaited Halo 3 shattered even more barriers, selling more than $170 million worth of copies in the first 24 hours of release.

The real question is, did you think Halo 3 lived up to everyone's high expectations? I mean, I was amazed when I first played it. There's some pretty breakthrough shit on that game compared to Halo 2. Plus, they actually remade some awesome levels such as Zanzibar or Lockout, (My two favorite multi player maps). I had a lot of fun ripping the turrets off their stands and raping my friends with them, or running around with the gravity hammer, which is one of the best new weapons out there. The brute shots don't bounce anymore, which is always a plus for me. I do think the ability to dual wield shotguns is a bit overpowered, though it's good that they made the shotguns themselves a bit less powerful. A whole new line of brute weapons are out, and they are pretty well balanced.

    (+)
    Brute Weapons
    Vastly Improved Music
Took out the ability to dual wield a lot of weapons, which balanced the game a lot more
    Very nice graphics and textures
Some awesome strategic multi player maps
New Vehicles. For example, The mongoose. Fastest vehicle in the game, two people can fit on it.

    (-)
Single Campaign is somewhat short, which sort of makes you wish you preordered a copy of legendary edition.
The AI isn't improved a whole lot
    Sniping is a lot slower
Can't think of much more. Help me.

halo 3 is halo 2, and halo 2 was great, so if you're getting bored of the second one, pick this up.

Its Yay all the way, the sniping isnt slower necessarily because the time between shots are a tad slower but the speed of the bullet is faster, and the AI is greatly improved obviously you havent compared Halo 3 and Halo 2 Legendary because the Jakels in Halo 2 miss on Legendary the Jakels in Halo 3 dont, they also move it teams and this is a big one, they know when to use the equipment, also alot better in the way they dodge and all the other greatness. Also the shotguns have been slightly lowered in power, reason being the distance they can hit you with damage is alot longer.

Yay, I own the game as well, If you liked H2's online community you'll love this one as well, because there is tons of more weapons/ things to do with friends. Although campaign could've been a small bit better.

I heard the single player was a bit bad as oppose to the multi-player portion of the game. Then again, most games are like that.

Halo 3 - Yay or Nay?

Well I was talking to an EBGames staff person, and she said Halo 3 is EXTREMELY short. She stated that the only good thing about it is online X_X

But anyways, I think Halo is great. I'm planning on buying an original XBOX just for Halo 1 and Halo 2, then reselling it and getting a 360 and Halo 3.

Halo 1 will still be my favourite but this game is pretty decent and has some new better multiplayer options

so untrue. If you play halo from a competitive standpoint there very very different. Lets just say H3>H2 by a long shot. but it will always be H1>H3>H2

Are you kidding? The reason why Halo is so great is because of the flawless multiplayer, and halo 3 multiplayer is halo 2 multiplayer with some cool stuff thrown in. That's good, but for it's time halo 2 was better.

    H2>H3>H1(no live)

Halo 3 - Yay or Nay?

I personally haven't played it yet and probably won't for a while, but I heard the campaign really sucks. And for those who don't have Xbox Live, Campaign is everything. Plus, the whole thing is exagerated...

    Nay.

Halo 3 - Yay or Nay?

Well, just to let you guys know, Halo 3 was made for multiplayer. That's what Bungie focused the development of Halo 3 on. To me it was a success, and whoever bought this game for the campaign has a screwed up vision of what the purpose of this game is.
