Why does everyone here still use Skype?

Looking through these threads for services, everyone still uses Skype? You can do everything you can do on Skype with discord except it's a million times more secure and people can't impersonate you. The only reason I can fathom people using Skype is to impersonate themselves to try to scam their own customers.

 

think it's mostly because it's harder to have 1 on 1 convos on discord? Just a theory i don't really know. or maybe it's just because we've been using skype on sythe for years and years idk man.

I don't know. Some people are too lazy to download and install. I think that everyone is slowly making that transition.

Everyone still basically uses Skype. Discord has been proposed before to be replaced for trading but has been denied. You can see alot of people has started using Discord so who knows in the future. But for now, no.

 

The only reason I can see people being reluctant to switch is that they're making fake skype accounts to impersonate themselves.

 

I believe the reaosn people still use skype is because its more business like. I feel like discord is more for chatting with friends when gaming etc. I'd much rather talk on skype with someone discussing my questing services than be on discord. Also that can be solved by simply asking for a PM bro.

 

I'm just glad no ones using MSN anymore. That program was a piece of shit. Can we all just go back to using AIM?

 

The majority of people probably will continue to use Skype instead of discord because the majority of people are so accustom to Skype already, I myself use both but most trades are done over Skype.

Discord for me is mainly used for chatting to other people while Skype is strictly business.

 

I'd say Discord is more of a messenger type chat where you can just send quick messages rather than trade. Skype is just more traditional.

I have always disliked Skype, it's just really a shi IM for me.

Discord would be better, as long as you have your account authenticated it's safe, but staff can't be 100% sure for people's authenticity on discord anyone's can remove 2FA and still have the discord minirank. So it's weary I think. Although as long as people aren't verified it's good for trading and people do use it better communication between loads of members for trading and services. Only other issue I can think of, the pm names can be different, but as long verified should be fine.

 

You don't even necessarily have to "use" discord, you literally don't even need to make an account.

Once again back to the start of either not caring at all that their clients are getting scammed from something obviously avoidable or they're doing the scamming themselves.

If you actually wanted something "business like" you would just use email or livechat.

Skype is extremely insecure, but I still use it because most other people do. Also, I like being able to use the Skype app on my phone for when I'm AFK.

 

You mean people do not use icq and msn messenger anymore?

 

I only see people using Skype and Discord now, I do miss MSN though

 

The only reason I use Skype is for shit on here. Barely know how to use it. Lol.

 

Very easy to use but its not safe and it laggs So i dont know. I am using it tho.
