Bumps on sales threads.

Even before I start I know how much hate I am going to get for this but I feel like gold sites shouldnt ask for people to vouch on their sales threads. Rather get vouches on their vouch thread in the vouches forum, that section is there for a reason.

Reason why I am suggesting this?
What actually happens is the few gold sites that trade alot always end up staying on top of all the gp sales and buying forum sub sections. This doesnt let individuals that do not have alot of customers customers grow, I see my threads that I bump getting dug down to page 2 or 3 within 3-4 mins sometimes. Idk what you all feel about this but thats what I feel.

 

I have a feeling this is probably suggested before but I'd support atleast. I think it's very confusing when people have to quote vouches from a different section than the vouches one. But yeah I have a feeling alot of people will disagree.

 

I feel like they are using it as a bump method to bypass the 8 hours, Supporting this

 

Yea I can see how that's unfair and they SHOULD do that. Not sure if it's possible to force them to do it tho. If this is possible then yea I support

 

This idea was recently denied in a private vote by staff.

Only allowed to collect feedback on your vouch page

 

Maybe an update to where if someone posts on your thread it doesn't bump at all. (If you're still in the 8 hour wait)

If u haven't bumped it in 8 hours then if someone posts, they bump it for you. If it's 7 hours and 50 secs till next bump, and another random person posts, it will stay in its same place without a bump.

That way no abuse to bumping

It's not a form of abuse. The few gold sites that are always on the top have established, clawed, and earned their right to be at the top and if their customers feel the need to leave them vouches or feedback on their gold threads, so be it. Think of it as the free market. Google is always on the top because they have earned that right through earning customers, providing services, and repeating. It's the same concept with these sellers who are always on the top. If you wish to be at the same spot as these sellers, do something and try to learn more about customer acquisition or differentiate yourself from the market.

I've never understood the need for people to complain about not receiving any attention towards their thread/website. It's quite obvious they are doing it as a form of a bump method, but through the service they provide and their willingness to establish themselves, they deserve to.

no support, it's rewarding for sellers; just because you aren't reaping the benefits of this doesn't mean that no one else can

 

What this cool cat said; however, I am going to leave it open to gather some more input. If there is some community consensus, perhaps there will end up being another staff vote on it.

I'm not sure how I feel in regards to the suggestion. I think implementation would be kind of a pain and I would rather see a system that only allows threads in the market to be bumped every 8 hours no matter if a post occurred within that time.

In example, you post, 8 hour timer starts, other people post & you post in response, but the thread is not bumped again until the 8 hour + mark is hit.

It's actually a monthly quota and I hit it a few weeks ago

Posts advocating for or against were deleted as there was no justification for their support (which is required in this section).

No support - I have an osrs gold shop and I'm suffering - but in the minigame/questing section I got a strong shop that's always on the first page. I'm using my customers to bump my thread.

 

This has been brought up multiple times over the years, I forget the exact discussion points on our most recent staff poll, but ultimately the staff team voted in favor of allowing it.

I personally see it as a form of market abuse/manipulation, but I seem to be one of the few who feel that way.

 

Trust me your not the only one. There were quite a few supporters aswell earlier whos comments got removed. Hopefully they will comment again soon

@Sebast dude that's not the purpose of comment to get bumps. I am feeling what's happening is leaving the Vouches forum useless. I always use the Vouches for my Vouches like it's supposed to be used and I believe that puts me to some disadvantage.

 

If Sythe is constantly trying to grow why wouldn't we implement this? Or we could just let the same 5 gold sellers run the market.

For the people saying they've "Earned it". If their client base is so big then they don't need to be on the top of the page every minute because they have buyers who will come back. Let new sellers get business and in turn have the site grow.
