Max Account bought and recovered- iHateQuesting

There was over 2.4b in items. I was in a raiding party with a pretty big streamer, which i have a link of. Will post if a mod asks (for safety reasons). Clearly shows items worn and brought with before being disconnected and locked out of the account.

@iHateQuesting what is the status of the recovery appeal?

@NewPorts99 I'd like to see the video. A question I have is do you stream often or did you only happen to stream the video just before the account happened to get locked?

@Azie I reached out to @NewPorts99 on Skype and haven't received a reply back, I was denied the recovery the account. I asked him for more information such as previous RSNs/one previous password/where he has been playing on the account.

 

I will pm you the video right after i complete this message, and to answer your question, i wasnt the one actually streaming, i was in Sick Nerds stream, we were raiding all together. About 30 minutes into the Raid i was disconnected and could not log back in due to the account being locked. And yes i can pm you the un edited photo as well. If you need any more information just let me know and i will provide that as well.

As soon as i woke up and replied to you, i messaged ihq on skype and gave him all the information he asked for. He said he has tried multiple attempts at recovering with no success.

 

I submitted one a few hours ago with NewPorts99 information he gave me and I got this in return

 

Update - @iHateQuesting will have to refund the value @NewPorts99 purchased the account for.

I am now in the process of looking at account on wealth. May have to wait until tomorrow as I don't want to make a rash decision.

 

Update - reviewed video. Waiting for input from an admin.

 

After long discussions with the staff team. It has been decided that @iHateQuesting owes @NewPorts99 a total of $550.

The $550 comprises of the original $270 value the account was initially purchased for with the remaining acting as compensation for all the additional training and skilling done on the account by @NewPorts99.

The value $550 was decided based on how much the account would be sold for (approximately but realistically) by someone in the position of @iHateQuesting.

Compensation for the wealth will not be given because:

Although the video proves there were certain items that were present on the account it doesn't prove beyond doubt that the account was disconnected due to the account being locked. With due respect to @NewPorts99, the account being logged off by @NewPorts99 to stage the wealth being stolen is as equally possible as the account being locked, recovered by X user and X user stealing the wealth.

Typically, compensation for skills gained are not usually given in account recovery reports but given the circumstances and the potential value of $ that may have been lost. We as a staff team have decided that this is a fair compromise especially due to the fact that a lot of time and effort went into the account.

 

-Buys account several months ago
-Does raids with a party and known streamer
-Gets kicked off the account 30 minutes into raids
-Stream shows he has Ely and Twisted bow on the account during the dc.
-Account gets locked and unlocked
-Somehow IHQ is unable to recover account even tho he's OO

Does anyone else not see what's wrong with this? Absolutely fucking disgusted with this decision. You just set a precedent. Explain to me why I shouldnt do the same fucking thing?

My whole thing is I never received any recovery information from the beginning because if a situation like this were to be brought up he would be the only one able to recover. So to reiterate I never received the original Registered emails, Passwords, Ips, Recovery questions or any of necessary information to be able to lock,appeal and recover this account.

It is quite convenient as the original owner to say the recovery has failed if you are sitting on an account with 2.4b items on it, i dont see how its likely that an OO cant recover the account when he was the only person who had the original information and creation details. On top of this i dont know see how its likely for any one else besides the original owner to by pass a locked account due to suspicion of being stolen and then recover it after the fact.

How can anyone unlock/recover the account if the original owner could not

 

Also if mods look at the time table of the Stream given, and when my account logged off/dcd/locked its in direct correlation with all the evidence i provided as well as a Boglas accusation of IHQ. I fail to believe that after 6 months of playing on this account every day with no problems whatsoever that the hour he gets accused by bogla , my account gets recovered is just a coincidence

And if the mods would like evidence of me playing on this account almost everyday for 6 months i can provide screenshots of around 1100 total levels iv obtained in the time of this account being in my possession through osb

Id like to point out all of this was discussed prior to me ever stating how much wealth was on the account because i was nervous of letting him know right away. His screenshot of the recovery being denied is after he has realized the wealth on it.

 

We spoke about this yesterday but I had to go.

I have seen this happen once before, I purchased an account that Arcus was the original owner of and hand't had access to in months. In the Arcus report, Arcus nor the person who had last bought it were able to recover it. I know the outcome was that the account information had been posted around too often and too many people had been on it for it to be recovered effortlessly.



Newports99 mentions he was on a twitch stream when this happened. I have took it upon myself to google the streamer and have come across that on his twitter page he has posted numerous times of him and possibly friends of his being locked/targeted by toxic people in the community. It has been mentioned that he two of the most expensive items in the game while on stream.

I don't know what else to say other than I'm not sure.
