Gold price jump

Gold prices have risen approximately 30 cents in the last few days. Is this common around now or is it just because of raids release? I hope it doesn't drop just as fast because I don't want to be full stock when it happens.

Yea typically it goes up around christmas time, raids also made this go up more than usual

Raids & the returning of a lot of players to runescape was certainly the reason that it went up so much in a small amount of time, but what's more interesting is that it hasn't dropped.

I think there being more endgame items such as twisted bow, is giving gold more of a use in the game. Prior to raids, the usefulness of using gold to buy items capped out at elysian, and now it ranges much higher and across many more items (e.g prayer scroll, twisted bow). Raids items reduced the buying power cap of gold which makes the demand for it higher.

We'll see how long it lasts.

raids bumped tf out of it mate, it will drop as the new items drop, its normal.

 

Last year around this time it was almost double that XD
