I have a hdmi splitter where you flick a switch and it switches between ps4 xbox 360 and pc monitor,I run a dual monitor setup so its ideal to have two monitors. When i turn on my ps4 the signal gets lost to my pc (Obviously) and the monitor. Is there a way for it to keep everything that i had on the seocnd monitor the same even with no signal? So lets say I have both my monitors on my pc right now. But i get bored and i want to play ps4 so i switch it but then i look on the remaining pc monitor and everything from the 2nd monitor isnt on the taskbar however everythings on my home screen, when i switch back to my pc on my 2nd monitor everything was moved onto the first. Anyway to make it stay as it was? pretty sure its called edid Is there anyway to store this on a pc without buying parts.
This is super unclear. Are you asking that the things you had open on your 2nd monitor get pushed to your 1st monitor when it's switched out? You can do that by changing the dual monitor setting from extend to duplicate.
Just like blupig said. it sounds like your system is just moving the icons and applications from the secondary screen to the primary screen after it loses connection, theres no way to avoid this when working on a second monitor that is an extension of your first. Duplicating doesn't solve your problem, because then you may aswell just use a single monitor. my guess is you are trying to make it so the icons and programs return to the second monitor after you switch back from the PS4 to PC? or you just want them to remain invisible while your using the PC, meanwhile having the HDMI switch dedicated to the PS4?
Well, I have no idea, Google is your friend i guess, good luck! You'll probably need to get some third party software which i don't feel like taking responsibility for by recommending it to you.
I had this problem for a long time but couldn't figure it out so I just gave up. Giving up is easy could be the solution to your problem
