I remember when they were $3....I could of been a millionaire.

 

Well that sucks, I was thinking about investing £5k into them about 2 weeks ago.

 

Just broke $1,000!! I think it will keep driving, but shouldn't break 1,400 without a violent reversal. It's overpriced as all hell, but the Chinese and Brazilians keep pumping cash into it.

I should of had seen it coming my professor told us to read the document that explains it. Be and to send money digitally evading taxes easily with it and it's completely secure it's a great idea. I bet there's still money to be made with it maybe with a few of these.

I'd bet it would approach 600 before it goes back up. If I were you I'd sell and take profits cut losses and wait for it to become cheaper, but that's just me.

The thing about all these e-currencies is that no one knows how to value them. They're completely susceptible to any and all external economic fluctuations that occur. The rally we just saw was caused by 3rd world countries (namely BRIC countries) pumping cash in. Who really knows what will happen? If you can't value an asset but you have lots of people who have the ability to purchase it, it's definitely going to have volatility. Don't get caught up in the fact that "900" or "1100" is what something is worth. Understand that it's what irrational and unknowledgeable people around the world are willing to buy it for. These people opinions tend to change depending on whether the coin is currently rising or falling. That said, you'll have more momentum on the side of the current trend. Now that the trend is reversing, you'll see the bearish market before we see the coin flip (pun intended). Sorry it that was a bit of a ramble.

 

Holding mine forever until they're 5k each and I can retire happily, this is no problem 8)

 

@Basement I'm with you. I've got a certain amount of bitcoin I will not sell for atleast the next 3 years I hope.

Since bitcoins all time high in 2013

• there has been so much negativity around bitcoin, yet it has maintained a value above ~$230 and even returned to near its all time high.
• its become MUCH more difficult to mine. Not only difficult, but the reward for mining is now HALF of what it used to be. (LESS SUPPLY)
• more people are using bitcoin, more developers are developing for bitcoin, and there are more reputable exchanges than before. (MORE DEMAND)

I think Bitcoin will go above $1,000 and stay there permanently one day soon. Bitcoin has proven itself to be a safe store of wealth. The value fluctuates, but the technology has proven itself nearly bullet-proof. Since (I've heard) 95% of all bitcoin users reside in China, the only real threat to Bitcoin I see is the Chinese government making it illegal and prosecuting people for holding it.
