Super Smash Bros Melee?

Anyone here play Super Smash Bros Melee? Mains/ Favorite Pro players?

 

Eh, I don't really play anymore unless I have friends over. I've kinda lost interest personally, it was the only fighting game that I ever liked. I played it for countless hours with my brother & friends when I was younger though. I played a lot of Mountain Climbers & Ness.

Interestingly enough, I actually have a friend who is sponsored to play Smash on Twitch, and he competes in a lot of local competitions. Pretty sure he won one here about three weeks ago for ~$200.

I wish I had a Wii U so I could play the new gen. Smash online tbh, it would be a lot more fun.

 

i play melee online via Netplay its all free. You just have to buy an adapter to plug your gamecube remote into your pc.

It is actually possible to play Smash bros melee online on the computer?

been thinking about this game lately, seen it at wal-mart for wii u and now this thread -- hmm gonna have to investigate this netplay stuff

 

You probably saw Super Smash brothers 4, which is a completely different game than Melee. Melee came out for the gamecube and it actually pretty expensive to buy a copy so most people install it on a wii or download it as seen above. I would definitely try both as they both have their own merits. If you ever end up getting netplay set up hmu.

 

So I got it all set up with some help from @Excelont and I have a newfound respect for people who don't suck as much as I do. Getting smashed repeatedly can only be so much fun haha

How bad is the lag online though?

 

It depends on how far apart you are from the person you are playing. I play with people all over, ranging from my friend who lives 5 minutes away where we get around 20ms of lag all the way to playing with people from the other side of the US where we have to deal with 80-100 ms of lag. It's actually not that bad once you get used to it and is very useful practice.

I think Super Smash Bros is a perfect example of why Nintendo has stayed relevant. They managed to come up with a game series that only got better with time. I do love the original, but they did a fantastic job making this game better with each new version
