So you're going to go after her for "attacking people's opinions" while she voices her own opinion? Seems a bit hypocritical to me.

Difference being she is in a place of authority and a public figure on the forum, so she should be more inclined (and by now used to) dissenting opinion. The outburst was petulant and not befitting of someone who should lead by example. TTB never would have had to call it out if it never happened. Too many staff members running on pure emotion at times, especially on these threads. People memeing and creaming has been present in literally every single promotion thread ever made. Even if you have a staunch presence on the site and get promoted somebody will invariably quip "Whoze dat hurr durr hurr never hurd of heem". So there is literally zero reason to get upset about it.

 

Before you know it we'll have to add disclaimers to our posts: "this is just a meme, please don't ban me for 3 years"

 

In what world is TTB "going after her"? If anything, what TTB said is friendly advice/feedback.

 

The fact you also have people rage quitting over the tiniest bit of adversity also undermines their ability to be taken seriously later on down the road. This is Sythe.Org, a stagnating Runescape forum. If you cannot take criticism here how are you supposed to survive in the real world?

Just go back to any promotion thread since the inception of this site and a lot of those same people from this thread are saying the same exact thing.

And what are you doing to TTB? Those in positions of power often times should keep their opinions to themselves and not voice them openly to the community. Someone with the second to highest rank on the site shouldn't totally shut down the ideas of a normal member, doesn't promote a very friendly/open environment imo. Chloe has plenty of places to voice her opinions (SL / Discord / lounges), so it's not like it isn't being heard. There is a proper time / place for everything.

OT: Good luck to you all, it's nice to see some new blood on the team! Hoping that you all bring some activity and discussion to your respective sections. A little moderator community presence goes a long way in promoting discussion!

I think people like @Shin (ji) are a good example of someone who gets dumped on consistently and doesn't act like a petulant entitled brat when it occurs. Proof that it's possible to do it.

I'll concede Shinji has been around for a lot longer and is a grizzled veteran (I'd wipe the floor with him in pool though).

Well I disagree completely. She had an opinion and there are those that agree with it and those that don't. She should never be attacked for giving her opinion though.

@FlyingToast I wasn't attacking his opinion. I was pointing out the hypocrisy in it.

Are we reading two different posts? TTB was not talking down to her and I'm sure Chloe herself would agree. You can stop trying to white knight her now.

 

To everyone who cares about what I have to say. Guys, staff make these promotions based off the things we see and discuss, maybe in your eyes it's not perfect, but we do what we genuinely believe is best for the website. No strong arming, no picking favorites, we just do what we can to help and make things better for everyone.

As a community you guys need to remind yourself that blasting eachother on a thread like this, or blasting us on a thread isn't going to do anything. We want your feedback, but post a legitimate thread where you explain (with valid reason) why you say/believe the things you do.

Most of us really do appreciate and consider your feedback, just present it to us in a constructive way.

Completely agree. I don't support or agree with everyone blasting eachother all over this site. Everyone bringing everyone else down. Regardless who is right or wrong, personally attacking or bashing someone is pretty useless/pointless/scummy.

My feedback : I like the promotions, besides never hearing of Frankiee before, the other people have personally been helpful to me in some way or another and I think they have qualities that fit the Moderator position well.

 

You're a fucking moron. He said he's disappointed in her post not he's disappointed in her. That's his opinion of her post and nothing more. Stop trying to make it out as an insult or him talking down to her. Really not sure how someone this fucking stupid is on the Sythe Tech Core.
