Friends life literally ruined due to Pokemon Go

So there's a former coworker of mine, who eventually became my friend, at a commercial paint and prep facility for utility vehicles and boy he had a huge appeal to Pokemon. Most at first would say it was a healthy hobby as he was Successful at his job and took care of his Fiance quite well.

He had invited me to his place for drinks and he was eager to show me his collection of Pokemon paraphernalia. Variations in dinnerware, poster, collectors cards and some worth hundreds of dollars, and just random assorted items. His soon to be wife supported him in hobby as she seemed to find it cute and entertaining.

Upon the release of Pokemon Go hilariously everyone at work predicted Luke, that's his name, would call in the for the first time, and he did. Eventually when he got off at like 10pm he and some of the other guys he convinced to play went pokemon hunting. He repeated this process from July all the way up to until mid October. But during this process very unlike Luke he was late multiple times and it was to the point the bosses were talking to him.

Back home his woman of 7 years apparently was venting to friends some whom were also fellow coworkers of Lukes. The arguing was his excuse to stay out so late and keep playing and was returning home early in the morning to pass out. He eventually thought it was an good idea that one of his friends said they would keep Krista company because she was tired of running around all night.

Well Luke eventually started to realize such circumstances might not be that good for a relationship and returned home early one night from playing Pokemon and found one of his "friends" banging his girlfriend in their kitchen.

They lived on the second floor of an apartment complex and he freaked out and literally stabbed the guy in the back and threw his girlfriend off the balcony. They both lived actually, but were injured greatly. He was fired from his job as he got attempted manslaughter and went to Prison. I share his story because it's fucked up how much impact a game can have on a life.

 

I would've done the same thing he did in all honesty, but thats crazy!

 

Not at all what I was expecting lol. I woulda just turned around back outside to play Pokemon Go. Ppl like that ain't worth the time.

Not really anything to do with the game. Everything to do with his cheating fiance.

 

I think we can all agree that there is no justification for the betrayal. As it's wrong and one of the worst pains a individual can feel when a person you think genuinely loves you hurts you. Not to mention when it's both a lover and friend that do it to you.

But what I can say is if you prioritize a virtual game and neglect your relationship for a period of months the odds of these kind of things definitely increase. As she had always been a good sport about his hobby or fixation with pokemon until he was spending excessive amounts of time with it to the point that's what he was doing after work and shit.

In the end it's crappy he had to go to prison, and I think both her and the guy got a fair beat down and excess for they did. But the core truth of the matter is that if he had never picked up that game he would've never ran into the issues he did.

 

If you have the means to try and kill two people it would have happened regardless of the game.

 

Cheaters gonna cheat. But hotheads gonna hothead too lol. They both probably would have made a mistake at some point regardless of the game.

 

Well that's what I mean. They were pretty ideal couple and prior to the release of Pokemon Go was a strong couple. The guys fixation with Pokemon lead him astray when he started neglecting his home life due to the game.

He was a very well liked guy and would do anything for you. But when you see a supposed friend and your supposed to be soon wife having sex in your house I think that's enough to make any man snap temporarily.

Sure he should've spent less time playing that stupid game but she on the other hand could have been honest and just break up instead of fucking someone else behind his back. Just sayin'

 

well that must be a horrible feeling seeing his wife that he loved getting pounded in front of him lmao

 

Pretty sure a person who is attempting to kill people such as Luke would have done so with or without the game. Attempted murder is never justified especially only for cheating.
