What would you pay for my machine?

About to sell it for ~$800 CAD to fund a new one.



Some info: Computer has good cooling, is OC ready. The 24GB DDR3 is actually in the 1733MHz range. Would be leaving out the Samsung SSD but leaving in the 1TB Seagate. Ignore the Acer drive. The graphics card is a 280X. PSU is a mid-tier 650W. For those who underestimate the 4670K and the 280X, there hasn't been a single game that I couldn't play totally maxed out at 60fps and at 1080p. I play Fallout 4, GTA 5, Shadows of Mordor, Mad Max, etc. No problems on any of them.

I don't have a real reason to sell it, other than future-proofing myself. Since we're approaching the silicon wall, I may as well upgrade now and keep my shit for 10 years rather than having to upgrade anyway in 2-3 years with my current build, then being stuck not being able to get rid of this machine for anything over $300.

I think $800 is a good price point. I'd even go to $900 tbh.

I'd pay around 620 EUR for that.

Its a pretty decent mid range build.

my estimation is for the PC itself, no keyboard, no monitor etc etc. it also includes the price of SSD and HDD's.

 

I honestly wouldn't pay over 700. If you're getting 800 then i'd say you got lucky and go for it because i just checked kijiji and i found some better rigs for the same price range.

Don't know which deals you've found but from what I see I should be raising my price to $1000.

 

Been watching some Youtube vids about some premade PCs and how some of them actually beat the "build it yourself" price with some great parts. So if people are smart and thrifty they can buy a better value new/premade one I think. But that's not the same as what you "can" sell it for. I see people spend $6k on a $1.5k PC. So throw it up on Craigslist or whatever for $1k and sell it for $800-900.

 

Selling it to a friend, just wanted to make sure I wasn't screwing her out of her money and that I wasn't getting ripped off either.

 

Makes sense. I don't know what it's actual worth is, but I've been looking at PCs and parts for the last month non-stop. I think where your head is at is pretty fair for both of you.

 

Cool. I probably won't go higher than $900. That means that if I put all that money toward a new machine, I could make a killer 1070 rig for $1500 and *really* only spend $600 on it. Sounds good to me

 

Haha I had the same notion. Spending around $1400 total now on mine. Hoping to get $250-$400 for my current one. Means I spend about the same as I did for my little macbook.
