Pokemon Sun and Moon

Are you playing it? It's coming out in 2 days here, I'm planning on picking up a 3DS xl and the game for nostalgia's sake (I haven't played any DS games since 2008 or so)

Would love to hear everyone's thoughts about the game!

I'm still waiting for it to be released over here, have it pre ordered though

 

Can't bring myself to play Pokemon on the DS, don't think I've paid for a game since Emerald

 

I bought it 2 days ago and only have played for about 10 mins. It seems like it's going to be a fun game for sure just havent really had the time.

 

Unfortunately has been me over the past 3 Pokemon releases. I really am liking the changes in this generation though.

 

Yeah looks like the best pokemon game in a while just not sure how i feel about there being no gyms

 

There are challenges right? Which are pretty much like gyms.


Picking this up when it's released tomorrow. It's going to be such a huge nostalgia blast for me, I really can't wait.

 

From what ive seen theyre called "trails" and youre trying to be the strongest trainer on each island (4 Islands). I'm not too far passed the first route though so i could definitely be wrong lol.

 

Compared to X & Y, Sun & Moon look like they will be a lot more enjoyable. It seems like there will be more filler (I guess?) in the game, rather than just beat all 8 gyms, get a bunch of Pokemon, and beat the Elite Four.

I'm not that far in yet though, so I'm unsure. It definitely looks promising to be the best of the two original titles for 3DS. I'm a huge Hoenn fan though, so I'm not even gonna include OR & AS in the mix.

As opposed to my normal liking to fire starters, I've started with Rowlet because I really like its final evolution. All these Hawaiian names are killing me though, I just kinda mumble the hard-to-read names in my head as they come up... Lol.

Anyone beat all the gyms yet?

 

I hear ya on the hawaiian names man. They all look like Aloha to me lol. Im doubting anyone is that far yet.
I also picked the grass type for the first time ever.

Got Sun, went with Litten as a starter

 

Still just Rowlet. Only few mins into the game but going to play a bit today and this weekend

 

My team is currently Dartrix, (Alolan) Rattata, Abra, and Slowbro. I was thinking to maybe get Crabrawler and another new Pokemon.

Anyone else got any updates?

As I said before, Sun & Moon are definitely the best original titles for 3DS and possibly even all of DS history. Be prepared to be clicking through a lot more dialogue in these games though, it's not just a simple & quick run-through like it has often been in the past.

I'm still not very far into the game but I now have my starter completely evolved (Decidueye). I'm loving the Grass/Ghost typing. Gengar won't be the only useful Ghost Pokemon anymore lmao. I've also evolved my Rattata into Raticate and Abra into Kadabra. Not much more to report. Really hoping some Sythe people will be interested in trading/battling in the future. Would be nifty to try that out lol.
