Some way to show how much money someone is currently being trusted with

My suggestion is some way to show how much money someone is currently holding. This could be a slider or just a box people can turn on which shows at their profile.

    Purpose of this:
I would trust a 200$ donor with 100M as I know he would lose more than he put in to Sythe, but I would not trust a 200$ with 100M if I know that that 200$ donor is already being trusted with 300M by other people combined.

    How would this work?
It could be an individual choice whether people use it or not. If people use it customers can check if their amount got added to the "currently trusted with" tab, so faking the "currently trusted with" tab would be somewhat hard.

Checked all things at the Do Not Suggest thread and this can be suggested.

I don't think many people would use this, if people don't trust the person they're attempting to trade with they should use an MM, no support.

I think it's a neat idea and would definitely increase the value of individual trust, but I can't see something like this actually happening. Would devalue the "trust" that comes from higher donor ranks. Even though donation money cannot be used as a collateral if the user scams, I know a lot of people see donation ranks in that light. If Bus was here I'm sure he'd have a "Sythe is a free market" comment to throw in.

What are you defining as trust?

This person has 3 lines of miniranks. Oh this person has a rare minirank he must be trustworthy to hold at least 100m. Oh this person has a funrank that says he gave money away to a site so he must be trusted with $500..

Really this is just a vouches thing and people can look at someones vouches to define how many vouches and the worth of each vouch to see if they trust a person.

    Don't see a point here.

Edit: idk if i got the idea wrong, but thats what it looks like <.<

Also someone donated $150 for me, so I'm trustworthy aren't I? smh. Don't put trust into donations or miniranks or join date.

I could see this useful in preventing scamquits. There's been a fair share of scamquits where someone borrowed money from 4-5 different people, who most likely would not have initially loaned the money if they knew how much the person was borrowing.

For example, would have helped in the chris/mrevilpwns scamquit. I don't entirely remember the situation but I'm sure he wouldn't have gotten as much money if there was an indicator somewhere showing how much he already owed to other people.

Well just allow someone to write on peoples vouches. "I am lending bla bla to this person" that way people know they're are being trusted with money. It's just the vouches system.

i think join date has some sort of trust with it, like i've been on sythe for 8 years, and i've made 50 trades during that time.. surely if i was ever going to scam, it would have been when i was 8 years less experienced and younger.. the older people get, the less likely they need money enough to scam =p

    No support.

    1. What someone is being trusted with is none of your concern as it doesn't apply to your trade, and if you have doubts you shouldn't be trading.
    2. If you don't feel safe when trading with someone use a MM or OMM to avoid problems.
    3. Sythe is a free market, should myself or other companies update a forum post that "someone just sent me $1k btc, now I'm holding about $3k in orders etc" and update this every so often? absolutely not.
    4. You're basically re suggesting the "insurance" rank by asking for people to publicly post all of their trades/assets so you can see as this somehow "gauges trust"..

I like the idea personally, but I think it would be a pain constantly updating your sliding trust chart. This is 50/50 for me I can see many benefits and downsides to it.

This. The reason I am suggesting this is to prevent future scamquits like the current Racks on racks scamquit.

I don't think this would be that useful.

    1. Wouldn't someone be able to fake values?
    2. Would both sides of the trade have to confirm the values? (Would it just put a hold on the number of this trade if someone forgets to confirm the trade?
    3. Different trading values. This person is holding my Paypal money from a month ago that they bought this service from, would that be trusting still considering chargebacks are a thing? It's just "iffy" lines everywhere.

It's a nice idea in theory, but if it's an option to show it in the first place then obviously if someone is going to scamquit, they would opt out of using the public indicator you've suggested.

I personally wouldn't mind seeing this, but something like this would never really work. People lie and steal anyway. Having an optional indicator would do absolutely nothing and most people, if any, wouldn't even use it.

There's plenty of free MM services out there, to include services of OMMs and staff.

If this feature is made to be optional, then it's purpose is nonexistent.

The back-up would be the customer who could make a notification or something. In the example of Racks on racks some core community members got scammed, I bet at least some would be willing to make a notification of some sorts (for example the 200M dice not being paid out immediatly).

I like the idea to an extent but it seems like it would be too much of a hassle no support.
    1. If this was optional no one would use it because wouldnt really benefit them honestly so would be pointless.
    2. Just use a MM if your concerned.
    3. If this was mandatory i dont think active traders would be very happy being forced to update this constantly.

This system would be used and abused, sounds like another thing mods have to check and verify. What's stopping people spamming this and or lying, now they can just put a lean on someone anytime they want to slow down their trading habits. They aren't a moderator, they should have no such power.

isn't this essentially the basis of the doubling money scam? trust someone with 10m, someone gives them 10m, trust someone with 20m, someone gives them 20m, trust someone with 100m, they take the 100m

we're not really in the business of validating people on sythe; we're in the business of providing a platform where traders can determine others' validity for themselves. this is very unlikely to ever happen, especially given that vouch threads already accomplish this (they just require you to click a vouches link instead of a profile link)
