Justice has been served. The Case has finally been closed in my favor and is now SOLVED. It definitely was a wild ride.

Full story..

I used PlayerAuctions(PA) for an order of 3,560m OSRS gold. I am a power seller there, so I'm quite familiar with the site, staff structure, and more importantly the process of buying and selling bulk gold. After recently making a purchase of almost $3,000 USD from a non-reputable seller (3 reviews 100%), I naturally didn't think much of it because PA acts as a middle man in case the order was not delivered.

So here's what happened..

Part 1: Before I made the order, I asked the seller to verify that he had the gold in stock and to provide evidence , in which he did and responded with a video.
Part 2: I proceeded to purchase almost $3,000 USD worth of gold in one transaction, I sent money through Western Union and waited aproximently 3 days for PA to receive it.
Part 3: Prior to the trade, we scheduled to meet in the game at World 308 East side of G.E, and agreed that half the gold would be traded on two accounts, "16biak155" and "172bilyu12".
Part 4: Immediately after our scheduled meetup (which never happened), the seller (Orthortho) confirmed that the trade was COMPLETED and 3,560m was traded to two accounts (as we discussed). This also NEVER happened.
Part 5: I obviously disputed the claim that the gold was delivered. Since I never received nor TRADED with anyone.
Part 6: The seller to my surprise provided evidence, and two videos showing that the trade DID take place, and 3560m WAS delivered. Obviously, this is not true, because I was never traded and never received any gold. So it's up to ME (the buyer) to prove the evidence provided is fake.


(TLDR Version):

I am the buyer of the 3560m transaction (About $3,000 USD Order), and I KNOW The screenshot and video is fake, I know this for certain because I was never traded, never approached in the game, nor did I receive any gold. But the onus is on me to prove the evidence provided by the seller is fake, tampered with or edited in any way, otherwise, Player Auctions has no choice but to send the seller the money.

I'm asking for your help. The screenshot is linked below as well with the video that was also provided by the seller in which I uploaded onto YouTube.


My disputed claim with the Player Auctions Mediation team is on-going. I will be watching this thread closely and will respond to any questions for clarification. I tried running this by other gold sellers as well, and they were UNABLE to tell if it was fake! If you think you spotted a fake in either the screenshot or video, post below. If it helps me win my case, you will have my eternal gratitude - I promise.

BREAKTHROUGHS FOUND SO FAR:
After analyzing the evidence produced by the seller with few community members, I have concluded the following in order of minor to serious breakthroughs.

1. Icons larger than OSRS client. The Smiley face is displayed incorrectly and log out button has wrong stripe color. (MINOR)
2. Slight pixel doctoring, and/or distortion in bottom left of the screen shot, next to "Other player has accepted". (MINOR)
3. The "H" in "Orthortho" is smudged in the top right of the screenshot. (MODERATE)
4. When scrolling over to trade "172bilyu12" it shows that he's trading "BIPZZ" (MAJOR)
5. Hovering over gold coins in a trade window should display "5 more options" not "4 more options". (MAJOR)

He sent the gold to two different accounts? You should've specified the accounts at delivery time, so there's no way for him to proof that those accounts are yours if you never gave him any names.

 

I gave him both of my account names, "16biak155" and "172bilyu12" prior to the trade taking place.

 

I believe @AprilGoldenStore fell victim to a very similar scam and was unable to win the dispute. Best of luck.

 

I dont think its incredibly hard to fake a vid, especially for Runescape. Just make an account with the same name as the buyer on an RSPS, make a vid of you giving that account the money and it seems like it is 100% real on the real Oldschool Runescape.

Most of the names does show up on the hiscore.

 

How will gold be bought if evidence can be faked? This can be a problem..

Are you able to notice any inconsistencies in the video to prove that it might be from a private server? or that a software editing tool was used? How would you explain the legitimacy of the busy grand exchange of the video?

 

Certainly would have to be some sort of editing/overlaying. Highly odd that he'd speak ingame though. I've never seen that done with a trade of that sort, and of such high value.

 

Can you point out anywhere in the video/screenshot that editing/overlaying took place?

If not, what do you speculate?

You should've known that a single $3k trade with a non-reputable seller would be too good to be true. I hope that it works out for you man, good luck.

 

By the way you format all of your question it seems like you're practicing a huge scam yourself and are presenting this to us to help you bullet proof it.

I honestly don't care. Just sharing my point of view.

The whole transaction is strange to me.

 

I offered to buy bulk gold from the seller at $0.75/m, and he accepted. I was then going to flip it back on PA for $0.98/m (after fees). Again I was not worried about the transaction since I didn't know providing flawless fake evidence was possible.

But if providing flawless fake evidence is possible, the gold market could be in trouble.

 

I wouldn't trust our savior, Donald Trump with $3k, let alone a site that seems to have gone to dog shit lately.

Hmm, ur case is similar with mine, i bought the gold on G2G site, more than 1000$ i lost. No trade but the scammer provided the video. The video they provided seemed faked, but i couldnt find out any evidance to prove it was a fake one, so i lost my money.
