Black Lives Matter

I think if they are truly standing up to police brutality, making a fool of themselves isn't going to help themselves.

In all honesty I think its a good movement to raise recognition towards police brutality. As well for the first time there is no centralized leader and with allows for less government interaction to dismantle it compared to other Black based political movements. I'm not saying its towards just Black individuals but the movement started on concerns of policy brutality from actions on Black individuals. The name gets often to use to mass the purpose who cares if is white or black lives its about the political force of making police accountable for there actions on anyone.

 

Pretty terrible slogan, the point of a slogan is to appeal to the masses, singling out a racial group isn't going to matter, I fully understand that the message is "Black lives matter too", not just "Black Lives Matter", but when stated in such a generalized form it leads to obvious interpretation.. People are too simple minded to look at the facts behind the camera. They'll take that slogan and say, "all lives matter" and simply state the movement is "terrible", example below being my point...



I think it has room to grow into a much better and unified social movement, but it's very weak in my opinion.

 

Hey, sorry I haven't replied in so long, I've had some medical issues going on that have had me completely out of commission!

That said, to stop somebody you need to have probable cause. If black people are being stopped more often (illegally, which means there's no probable cause), and if it's not because they're black, then why is it?

 

I think the idea behind BLM is a good one, but their execution is downright terrible. I completely stopped caring about their cause when they attempted to oust Bernie Sanders from his podium during one of this rallies so they could speak. A guy who was fighting for their cause kicked out so they could spread their message? That's just crazy talk.

 

I read this girl's paper in one of my classes, she wrote a paper defending blue lives matter and ripping black lives matter. She's a college student who legitimately thought that the BLM movement was trying to claim that ONLY black lives matter. She ACTUALLY thought they were like a black supremacist group.

I will correct it is wrong for me to call them Black supremacist in general as majority of the movements black members don't seem to think "deep" enough for that. A proper term would involve being anti -police and anti white.

 

I can't find anything on their website that suggests that they're anti-police or anti-white. In fact, one of the passages on the website was:

O_O a few bad apples the whole crowd was saying it atleast 100 poeple

 

A lot of people, yeah, but there's way more than 100 people involved in BLM. I'm sure there's lots of Christians out there who support bombing abortion clinics, but I wouldn't say that that's representative of all Christians.

 

I think its really dumb. Like they literally think that alot of people dont care about their lifes. Its not the case.

 

To many opinions as it can be seen as a racist perspective from being white as you believe it's dumb or being black and thinking it's important, all lives matter regardless of race.
