Applying for the bike-curious rank

Hi everyone,

Most of you know me as Swell. Throughout my adolescence I had thoughts of owning a Harley. Whenever I would bring it up, my friends would mercilessly ridicule me, thus I spent my childhood in emotional hiding. I knew my feelings wouldn't change. It's not as if I want to ride a Harley ALL the time, but is it wrong to have questionable bike-curious thoughts?



This is why I believe I am a strong leading candidate for the bike-curious rank. It is important to spread awareness so no child will ever have to be ashamed of thinking about the spokes in his tires, the hydraulic brake system, even something as simple as oiling the chain on his/her 10 speed at night.

Harley's are pretty impractical... ao is a racebike that can do 100km/h in first 310km/h top speed.. but personally that feeling of 0-100 in a few seconds trumps the Harley any day. I've had both. racebike more fun

They say you like cruisers when you get older... I wonder if that's true. Driving cruisers is just way too.. I don't like the position your body has to be in and how stretched your legs have to be.

 

Yeah and the way the hangers are set makes steering incredibly unco. by comparison my bike corners like a dream. Vastly easier to counterbalance. Practically lay the bike down and keep rolling the throttle on. The thing i find hard is staying under the speed limit. To corner properly (see twist of the wrist video) i usually end up about 30-40km/h faster than when i came into the corner.

Super Sport bikes aren't overly comfortable either, takes a few months to get used to laying right forward. In those few months you have a bloody sore back after any rides over a couple of hours.

My next bike is going to be an adventurer. Probably a bimmer. they make good adventurers. Being an environmental scientist i love exploring the bush etc... The zx7r isn't really appropriate for dirt tracks. Too much power and tor ue
