Working on a UI

I'm trying to create myself a UI, which I don't think I've ever done before, and if I did it would have been years ago.



Fairly satisfied with the background so far (contrast etc will be worked on later) but I feel the text is way to bland. I'm looking for a way to make my text look a bit like (credits to JayiARTS) but I have no idea on how to start with this. Any suggestions?

 

Try adding a gradient color fade to overlay the text? , some text shadow?

 

I've tried messing about with shadows and gradients but I can't get it to look anything close to that

It may not be the place to thread hijack or ask but could one of you remove the spacing in my UI, the person i got it from doesn't respond on skype ever since i paid him.

You just want the Y moved to the left right?

 

No like i submitted it, and they said to remove the spaces before and after the name.

 

but also moving the Y over too
