CDT, TC, PR with horror maze

late 20 minutes now, not sure if they're even coming.

So far the second event has been canceled and rescheduled, and now I bet this "second"(Was the rescheduled event) event is going to. Lack of communication is strong with all of these teams.

the problem with everything minecraft related we've attempted seems to be that a very small number of people have the power to make big changes. i agree that this shouldn't be hard

can we cancel this event in order to be eligible for the raffle? i won't even be able to play on the future dates if this doesn't happen today..

 

Agreed event should be cancelled.

 

It's sad indeed, i'm all for being transparent with you guys so i'll share what happened from what I can see, although I had nothing to do with the event myself i'll go by whats in the chat where all 3 teams are able to participate in.

From what I can see three hours before the maze started BuyAcc tagged Suf and iFreshMez letting them know they needed to open and keep the maze updated.

Then 2 hours passed and it become an hour before the maze opened, BuyAcc mentioned he was going off and it looks like he knew Mez & Suf wouldn't be on, I don't know exactly how managing the maze works but I assume BuyAcc could of found someone else to manage the maze but chose not to. Maybe that thought didn't even cross his mind? Maybe it's somehow not possible? At this point in time I honestly don't know, if it was possible it should of been common sense.

Sorry to the people that looked forward to completing the maze today, I really wish I was awake to try and potentially prevent this from happening.

 

can we cancel this event for the raffle? i can't really participate in the future dates and the last two have been a clown fiesta.

I offered to be a backup to a coupple cdt people since I won the first day and know my way around the maze. But no one responded lol

 

Not 100% sure who you offered your help to but even without your help it shouldn't of been hard to find someone that would manage the maze.

 

Just for clarification, I don't have admin/operator access to the maze (which is required to open the wall to allow players into the maze). Don't know why I was mentioned to open it, I was only called upon today to help restock certain items in the maze (which dosent require any special access).

I'd also like to apologize for the mess that happened today as well. It seems like a bit of miss communication and awkward timing. Only a select few people have operator access to the maze to prevent cheating/advantages and it has seemed to backfire.

I'm just speaking from a personal standpoint, I only helped on the surface (designing, creating things, and making promotional videos) so I would not be able to help anybody with the internal issues, such as opening the maze.

 

Was really looking forward to have a chance at the mini but yeah I agree that it should be cancelled.

 

I agree from a personal point of views that the event should be cancelled regarding raffle participation (But I am bias, read on). I believe that it was always something too niche and would benefit a particular type of person. Thus I don't see why it should be added to the raffle list as I think the entry standards were too high from the start (grown ups don't want to play minecraft). I have never played minecraft and have a laptop from 2009, I know minecraft as a kids game and have no desire to play it. Moreover, I deduce that raffle participation events should be fairly easy to encourage community participation and bondings, and do not find this as being so.

Thus, the cancellations from the people running the event mean that I personally think it has lost any credibility and is not deserving of such a position in the raffle listings.

Please understand this is me talking as a community member and not as a CDT dude.

I have just woken up and am still dehydrated I hope people don't see this post and think I am stabbing the community teams as I think they all do a wonderful job. However this event has not been delegated and the blame lies solely on the shoulders of those running it.

 

I don't believe the maze event should be cancelled.

Yes, the second opening was missed twice, and that's very severe, but the maze isn't exactly easy to complete. Many people invested time, not only creating the maze and making sure everything runs okay, but the actual people who participated in the maze, spent hours trying to complete it. It would also be a waste to our sponsors.

The third opening of the maze will also be open for 5 days for 24 hours. That's more than enough time for anybody who wants to participate in the maze whether it be for the minirank, or the funrank raffle.

 

the event is too niche. i don't have the desire or will to play minecraft and it can barely run on the computer i have right now because my gaming computer is at home and i'm at college. after the mess that has been created, it should definitely not be included in the raffle. minecraft is boring as fuck to a lot of people.

don't cancel the event, but don't include it in the raffle is my opinion. i honestly don't know why this was part of the raffle in the first place.

go back to the pictures competitions if you have to. i know this CDT wants to do more than that, but please, anything but fucking minecraft

 

don't let yourself be the problem, one person who can't run it doesn't mean the whole community can't, be glad they're doing some sort of change at the very least. Imo, it should be in the halloween event, you're suppose to do shit for a free mini. Minecraft doesn't take a lot, you can run it with 20fps with how optimized mods are becoming (Optifine). I played on 10fps on my old e-machine and im 100% certain I could still participate in this event with it. Regardless, they said the event would stay open for 4 or 5 days for the whole maze to be open, letting you do it anytime you actually want for a whole week, and i'm more than certain we have 30 minutes to an hour to spare if we're just browsing sythe.

I by no means want to crush you, but this thread is literally turning into cancer by supporting the cancellation of an event. It was ment for feedback of how nonprofessional the CDT, TC, and PR are on being on time, we already had to reschedule one event, why the fuck are we rescheduling another one?

 

I'd like to add the first event was an absolute disaster and I wasted over 2.5 hours of my own time perusing the maze all for nothing. There was nothing done in response to hackers gaining access either. Meaning, the entire maze event for that day should have been restarted entirely or re-worked to give people a fair chance. Instead, nothing was done what-so-ever and someone ended up winning the event for that day not after long.

 

This isn't just a circle jerk, I think there are some serious arguments against having this event go towards the raffle.
