Thought on Samsung's botched attempted at correcting the problems on the Note 7? Looks like it's costing them roughly $10B.

They've haulted production, so if you own one, congratulations! It'll be worth $25k one day! (probably not)

I don't follow stocks very close but theirs seem to have dropped significantly. Possibly a good time to invest?

It's a good time to invest assuming that they'll pick themselves back up after this. This colossal failure has pretty much killed the Note line.

 

It's a good time for Google to have dropped the Pixel, that's for sure. You got millions of these disenfranchised Samsung owners suddenly needing new phones...

 

eh, samsung will recover. As many people have said at least they did the right thing. halted production and started giving people refunds etc, unlike a certain company coughing a blind eye to all the stupid shit that happens to their phones *cough apple *cough. I would invest in samsung now, undoubtedly the next phone will be a massive upgrade as they will try to recover some of the market share they lost with this failure.

 

I flew from Toronto to Boston recently and the Samsung shit is so bad that they made an announcement before takeoff for Note 7 owners to notify flight staff that they owned one of those phones lmfao

 

Sure, they are banned from some flights lmao. But this is because pretty much every one is a risk. It's not like it doesn't happen with other phones, and it sure does. Iphone 6S plus, yeah its happened. iphone 7, multiple claims. So with the s7 edge, only a few cases. Before this, it was still happening but on a much smaller scale so people didn't really notice. Hell, batteries are not completely reliable, im sure its also happened to tesla...

What im saying is Samsung dealt with it in a much better way than apple have done in the past with other problems, and that is why I would keep buying their phones. I don't have the same opinion as many other people, but I think samsung deserve a second chance.
