Messaging Staff With DNT

Hello all,

I have just returned thanks to the staff on a do not trade rank.

My initial suggestion is that: what if members with the do not trade rank are strictly and only allowed to private message staff? Some staff don't have Skype or some forms of communication and PM is a good way to get ahold of them.

I'm sure it's possible to integrate into the software. So what're your thoughts? Ultimately, it will be Sythe's decision so hopefully we can get his input on that as well.

 

I mentioned this when it first came out.

I'm guessing its to prevent DnT users from annoying staff.

However considering u can literally Post, Tag, and message them on Discord, the blocking of PMing them seems utterly pointless.

I personally would be fine letting DnT members PM staff for the above reason, I support.

 

Messaging staff on site seems to be a lot easier way of communication for me, at least, and especially for people who don't have Skype or some sort of messaging system. It couldn't harm, especially if they have serious questions. Thanks for your support.

 

Support. When I had DNT it was a headache getting in touch with staff members. Most staff skypes are private and I wasn't familiar with Discord. For this reason I also support.

 

I had the same problem, an i had to annoy quite a few staff members on discord in order to talk to anyone. Seems like a good idea.

 

i respond to all discord messages i get sent; i treat it like a secondary pm system

but i would support this. i feel like getting in touch with staff isnt something we should limit

 

support. sometimes staff can be pretty hard to contact especially via skype because they're always so busy

 

I see no good reason to not let this go through

 

Not that this effects me in any way, shape or form, but I support aswell just cuz it sounds like it makes sense lol.

 

I think Richard's reasoning is that it's not meant to be easy to be DNT

 

I'd like to hear @Sythe 's thoughts about your suggestion. He was the person who came up with it/decided it would be this way in the first place if I recall correctly.

 

Just curious, but can DNT tag members/staff? I mean does it send alert notifications?

If so you can you not easily create a thread in Support Section tagging a staff member?

Is there a way to allow DNT to contact staff, but revoke individual power to do so if they abuse that right?

What's the difference between that and abusing the system you want them to use?

 

DNT does that in itself. At that point, I don't think they would really care.

 

Anyway we can get this implemented? If not, the possibility for staff to message you first.
