Minecraft improvements

As every/most players within the community that are interested in the Minecraft server left their feedback on the feedback thread it is time to convert the feedback given into suggestions to improve the Minecraft server. I will go by the feedback given and then leave the suggestions to try and improve the Minecraft server in the way the community wants. A tl;dr on the suggestions is at the bottom.

Vanilla survival has been suggested by multiple community members. It doesnt hurt in any way to replace the current Creative server with a Vanilla survival server so that should be do-able. As we aim to promote it to the outside world (outside Sythe) as well I also agree with a whitelisted server, otherwise other servers could easily try and ruin our server in a number of ways.

There already is someone that is willing to create a good spawn point, that should be no problem, we can improve the spawn more by adding SafePlace mod. Besides that, I also agree with boundaries as the current Pixelmon server tends to lag whenever someone goes way off in one direction. There already is a map.

I agree with a starter kit and as I have already mentioned that we have discussed this before. We might be able to make a NPC-trainer give starter items such as pokeballs etc. A reset has also been suggested by multiple people and I strongly agree with this. We are currently on a server with Pixelmon 5.0. After doing a bit of research it is easily seen that Pixelmon 5.0 is vastly inferior to Pixelmon 4.3, just take a look at the other Pixelmon servers (at the time of me posting this there is one 5.0 server being promoted and multiple 4.3 servers) and the mods available for the different versions. Besides that, I already talked with every active player and they all agree on that it should be reset.

We are always in need of people willing to create content. We currently have about 4-5 people willing to create content, which is great .

An economy is definitely something which is needed in the game and I think your suggestion is good, I also like to see the rare birds less hard to get as well. Mods that can do this is the Economy Bridge and Total Economy. A kanto region should be discussed first with the other players as people might disagree (every suggestion is discussable of course), if it passes I willl be glad to assist you build it. Areas being sloppy is true, a mod that would be able to fix this is and make nice areas in general is Spawn of Psyduck mod, which makes it so you can customize biomes. The mini gyms and better chests is something that needs to be discusses.

The spawn rates can be adjusted based on the community their wishes. I do agree that catching legendaries isnt really a challenge atm: you just afk and wait for the message to appear. I think Jacktheman's suggestion covered the orbs as well. On the price of the Minecraft server, it is 10$ for an account on Playerauctions from a reputable seller.

The second time mini-gyms have been mentioned, so will be strongly considered adding.

- Good starter area;
- More good chests;
- Factions (to be discussed as this might be a lot of work);
- Run both a standard vanilla (instead of creative) and Pixelmon server;

Support. I also found out that some people with bad pcs or low end laptops aren't able to play the newer pixelmon versions which is why I suggested pixelmon 4.2.7 (latest stable release)

okokokokokok, so i sadly wasnt able to participate in the event because of these reasons:

- the forge link and pixelmon links became outdated, therefore broken links means unplayable.
-downloaded forge link eventually directly off forge installer website thingy.
-pixelmon links were completely broken. no download, nothing. couldnt find a way around it

Asked TC and PR at the time, nobody had any ideas. tried downloading, redownloading, numerous websites. no version could be installed.

in the future, i would advise you to continueally check the links, and whatnot to constantly have a fanbase. unfortunately, i feel pretty jipped on the event, because it only worked for x-amount of time. someone else posted that they couldnt get it also but i cant find the link to the thread. this would be a big improvement. i even bought minecraft just for this event, and pretty much got scammed by broken event out of my minis lol @Buyacc </3

 

Would prefer not pokemon and just survival / factions

 

The current idea is to make 2 servers: 1 for the people who want survival and 1 for people who want pixelmon so both sides get what they want

 

Anyone any (other) arguments for why this shouldnt be done?

what's to population / popularity so far on the pokemon and creative server ?

 

Been 0 for the past 2-3 weeks. Certain people have been blocking any improvements (the one stated in this thread), people have no real reason to play as there is little to no content atm.

 

But what was the population to begin with when it first came out?

Is it worth it to make updates if no one played to begin with ?

So far I've only seen you get all the mini ranks

 

I got the miniranks cuz I am hardcore to the bone.
Within sythe there are like 10 people interested in Minecraft (atleast the ones that expressed it, could be more of course). This isnt however our main focus when making the updates. Our main focus is to make the updates -> Promote the Minecraft servers after we made the update (with vids and posting about our server on other forums specific to Minecraft) -> Get outside players.

Also is minecraft pretty hard to start up on? I've never played but I want those minis

 

There were 4 miniranks that were only given to the fastest/best, these were Mew, Charizard, Blastoise and Venusaur.

The one to catch the first Mew would get the minirank. So as soon as I got Pokemon who were good enough for me to catch a Mew I went and tried to capture a Mew. After failing to find Mew two times (it takes like 2-3 hours for a Mew to spawn 1 time) I decided to burn the entire Jungle down so I could see Mew whenever it spawned. I still couldnt manage to find it the 3rd time, so I burned down a bit more around the edges and at the 4th time I finally managed to capture it.

The Charizard, Blastoise and Venusaur were given to the player with the most Pokemon caught. Tbh there wasnt a lot of competition in this area as no one really 'grinded' to get the most Pokemon but me. There were players who also had a lot of Pokemon but I really had the most.

We have a video maker @iFreshMez who is planning to make a start-up guide on Pixelmon. So starting up shouldnt be too hard.

@Excelont The Lugia, Ho-oh and Mew miniranks are still being added to people their accounts. A lot of people (relatively) got the Lugia and Ho-oh minis so you should be seeing more around soon.

Do you know when Mez is gonna start the series by any chance? And yeah let me know about starting lol it'd be cool if you could help me out sometime when you're free, I just want those minis

 

at least we got an update or sorta on the minis.
