(Non-scam report)

Wanted to get some information before posting this, but I was asked to just post it anyways. Note that this user did not scam me or anyone else to my knowledge, but I think he's attempting to get me to leak information on this guide that I bought yesterday.

Explanation of the trade: No trade
How they scammed: No scam. PMed me looking for info on somebody else's guide that I bought last night. Implied that he could get me a free script to use with the guide in exchange for the method (but didn't say that straight up, so I PMed a couple mods for their opinion and was told by Gracious to just post this anyways)

Lots of IPs for 56 posts. Probably means nothing and I know nothing about IP Audit, but the sketchy behavior made me click on it.

 

It clearly doesn't warrant a ban, so if the behaviour warrants something, it would be a TwC. Does it?

The guy essentially asks for you to trade the confidential information in the guide for a script. Only two malicious possibilities can exist here:

1. He intended to scam you; ie take the confidential information and not give you the script; or/and
2. He wanted to pressure you into leaking confidential information.

For the first, there is no evidence of an intent to scam.
For the second, it's perhaps not the best of behaviour, but I certainly don't think it warrants a TwC. There was no explicit acknowledgement that the information was confidential (it is all implied). Even if it was explicit that the information was confidential and you couldn't leak it, he really doesn't seem to be applying much pressure, other than saying he has a friend that can hook you up. It's quite possible he didn't realize he was asking you to leak confidential information, or he didn't think much of it. Either way, to me it doesn't seem TwC worthy.

I'll leave this open for a bit if you/someone wants to reply before I lock it.

i agree that no TWC is fine. just tell him no

 

I (the person posting the report, not the person being reported) am the dg guy.

And @malakadang I agree, I have no idea what the punishment would be if any at all. Since he didn't explicitly ask or offer anything. I PMed some staff members about it since I didn't think it was something that needed to be posted in this section, but I was wrong and was asked to just go ahead and post it here to get some opinions.
