Auto lock threads of banned users

Manually locking threads of banned users is nonsense, but if it was possible to do so automatically it might be useful to atleast consider. Either way, while looking for such odd add-on on XenForo I came across this add-on: Easy User Ban by Siropu

It has some really useful options for atleast the moderators here. Sad part is that you'll have to pay for each installation of the add-on. I'm sure there are more add-ons like this one around, but this one has recently been updated with new options and features.

If needed I am even willing to pay this one installation for you just to try it out, because I'm sure it will come in handy for both the moderators (banning more easily) and users (ban reasons on profile).

Thoughts?

 

An autolock of banned users in certain sections I believe would be appropriate (ex: market), but I do not think such a system should be implemented in discussion-like forums. An OP's thread in a sub-forum like SFA can take a life of its' own with very little input from the OP themselves.

 

Yeah plus I like bumping banned users' threads in the Spam forum sooo..

But if this can be implemented in the market then I don't see why not.

The only issue I see is that since SRBs are just a perm ban with a different usertitle, as well as the fact that sometimes users are temp banned for non malicious acts, having to reopen their threads when they return could be a pain in the ass. If there's a way to do it automatically upon unban then sure.

 

sure but is it really necessary? if i see a thread @ marketplace by a banned user i'd just automatically just close the tab

& it'd also generate more work for mods in the future as well if said user successfully disputes/pardons right?
