The CDT has been around forever and just wiped out most of their members because they were useless. There is no incentive structure for the community teams. If people think being active in a section will get them staff I think they'll do it. There really isn't all that many negatives to this and a lot of potential. I mean do we really care if we piss of the remaining staff more? Everyone who was going to leave already left so getting a bunch of new faces with a new mission could work very well.

@Sythe you have people begging you to work for free, implement this method in the real world and you'll make millions (assuming unpaid work is within your area's jurisdiction)

 

idrk why staff is put on such a high pedestal. take a look at other forums, like literally a single ok subreddit would have like 6-8+ mods that would each be on like an hour or so a day with odd schedules. if you are committed to a certain section then there's no reason a person shouldn't be mod.

i like @SuF's idea of having a lot of people as mods for each section. as it stands I'd love to apply for OT and Community mod but i would have probably had a better shot a few months ago considering now i cant be on for more than like 2-3 hours a day. i dont see why it's necessary to put a giant workload on 1 or 2 people to moderate an entire section when it can be done by several capable people that are committed to the site and the respective section.

 

Nice one, @Hamouze. Personally I disagree with you - I think after adding a few sectionals, we should be good. The thing that I currently dislike about the current staff is that there are so many globals, I really think there shouldn't be, it should be much harder to get global - once you remove the focus on a section then that section starts getting looser and looser moderation and some sections require tender love and care to grow.

I know a lot of people want me to apply (I've received about 1-35 PMs about it) but I'd like to publicly state that I'm not applying due to extraneous circumstances (I have a bad knee) - once that changes you can look forward to a man of my stature (a good guy) on staff.
