[Food] Sonic - Pineapple Habanero Boneless Wings Review

So, BOGO wings are back at Sonic from 5-close Mon-Thurs. I decided to stop in on the first day of this promotion and they brought back Garlic Parmesan for this and added Hot Honey + Pineapple Habanero flavors.

Price Paid: $9.39 for 24 total wings. (Garlic Parm was registered at $8.79, their price before the promotion started).



Okay, so last year around this time they came out with 4 new boneless wing flavors, one of which included Extreme Habanero. This year's Pineapple Habanero has about 1/40th of the heat or less (I did the math >.>) compared to that sauce and has a little bit of pineapple flavor to it. Not good for their spiciest wing and by my tastes the heat is nonexistent. It is mostly a sweet sauce, and not a great one.

You can, however, taste a little bit of the Extreme Habanero flavor in there, and that made me happy. As far as a spicy product goes, this was disappointing. Extreme Heat was so much spicier (the spiciest sauce from a burger chain).

Spice for a product that has habanero in the name: 1/5.

Overall taste: Way better than the Garlic Parm (I got a bad batch).

High 3/5 because of the slight extreme habanero flavor. This sauce is probably good on a burger (yes you can get them on burgers if you ask - free).

I wouldn't get this flavor again, except as a burger sauce.

 

Interesting, not too long ago they built a Sonic by me but i've only gotten food there once or twice. I like wings, especially trying different flavors so I may give these a shot soon

 

The Garlic Parm are close to the Pizza Hut / BWW as well, I remember it being better but the ones I got this time tasted like the oil they fry it in. Heavy oil taste =/.

Sonic's food is alright but I wish they had interesting items on the permanent menu.

 

Is sonic that weird fast food joint where you sit down at a table and then call them using a telephone? or which restaurant is that one?

 

Close enough. The one you drive in with your car and push a button to order a la Flintstones.

 

Nah I don't think that's the one I'm thinking of. Idk this might not even be a thing at all. Just one time I was down in Arizona and I went to one of those big fast food chains and that telephone thing was the set up they ran. This was like 7 years ago tho

Was it a Root Beer restaurant? Pretty sure some A & W root beer places are like that.

 

nope. I almost think it might have been an in-and-out or something.

 

Ah aiight yeah when I went to an A/W place, now that I remember it..I sat in my car and ordered with a phone type thing and they brought it out to you. No table though like you said.

Drive-in restaurants are pretty baller

weird. we have lots of a&ws round here but no "root beers" or whatever you said theyre called.

yo real facts though: A&W teen burger is the best burger for it's price point. something bout their spices in their sauce or some shiut. idk. it;s delciious

 

A&W probably the most well known "root beer restaurant" as some people call them. Some lesser known breweries have similar set-ups but they're hole in the wall places that you'd have to just stumble upon. I know I've stumbled on a non- A&W one before. I cant remember if the car/phone ordering was at A&W or one of those hole in the wall places I'm talking about.

 

Garlic Parm is pretty good if they make it right and it doesn't taste like a batch of oil.

Other than that, the only other option is Buffalo Hot or take a gamble with Hot Honey and hope it isn't overly sweet.

The rest of the flavors are sweet flavors and not my style.
