Actually @Dave is the application replacing the old system or is this just an addition to the old system?

 

Half of people don't seem to care about them being private so I might just drop the idea.

 

I suppose it's a merging of the two - we'll definitely still discuss promotions for people if we need them/see someone is working hard/might be a good add to the team? Maybe that's how we'll include users who are sub 2 year join dates? Possibly make those guys promoted through staff decision?

After apps are sent in or discussion is had there's a USL vote, same as before

 

So is it 2 years registration, or 2 years active member?

 

Simply be registered for two years - obviously we won't promote someone who created an account in 2007 and was active for 1 month lol, give us a bit more credit than that

 

Sounds good to me. Does every application get a vote? That seems like way too much work if they do.

 

I'm assuming at least during these practice stages of things we'll give everyone a shot but troll applications will probably be deleted, maybe even forum banned from users who constantly do them?

I think the process will be wishy-washy at first but we'll grow into them I'm sure

 

Honestly just make it so any upper staff can make a voting thread for one of them but don't require it and then you can just ignore morons and it makes it so much less work. But anyhoo thanks for the openness.

 

That's the plan, we're going to likely allow globals to review the applications as well as admins, whoever gets to it creates the poll and it starts from there.

I assume applications will either be deleted or archived or something upon rejection/denial/acceptance or hwatever happens

 

Also @SuF applications will be kept private for a few reasons.

1. If someone uploads a resume/CV, there's a lot of personal info on that, not going to allow people to put that stuff online even if they're OK with it, they can thank me later for that.

2. People might leech of other's applications either through their answers to questions or whatever it may be.

I think keeping the applications private is a good idea

I totally gave up on the make everything public idea because there were good points brought up like what you've said. Then again I also feel like unless every application does get attention and a vote in a reasonably quick about of time it will feel like it's an entirely pointless endeavor which is just going to annoy people. I really don't see a good way around that and it's making me think the system should just be a lot different than it is but we can give it a shot for awhile.
