    MiniRank price thread

I think that there should be a stickied thread stating how much each mini rank is worth. Whether you buy or sell for that price is totally up to you but I know at first for me I had no idea what they were worth so didn't want to buy any. I have a general idea on most of them now but there's still quite a few in not sure on. I could create the thread if you guys think it's a good idea? I think this will create a lot more minirank trading.

i support there maybe being a categorical price range because most people have an approximate $ estimate when it comes to each minirank

Doesn't really make sense because there isn't a valid price for each minirank, everyone simply comes up with their own prices and each minirank is worth a different price to a different buyer. No support.

No support since there really is no price-range on any minirank. I've seen people sell Miniranks for $80 whilst someone else would sell the exact same one for $10.
Same reason as why there isn't a price category listed for accounts/RSGP, everyone charges different prices and everyone is free to charge different prices.

That's the reason I feel new people are skeptical on buying miniranks. Someone could be selling for $30 more than the next and have no idea what it's approximately worth. If a seller wants to sell for a different price than listed it's up to them.

I support if its an estimate, but not like a firm price

A sticky thread that gives an estimate for each mini rank would be helpful, because i know some mini ranks cost more than other mini ranks

Yes it would be like an estimate. Like I said don't have to sell and buy for that price. But would be nice if everyone had a general idea.

Something like a relatively accuracy price range would be cool, tried to sell miniranks twice, was just a lot of lowball offers and ended up just lending 'em to a m8

I'm sure there was a thread where everyone would state what they recently bought a minirank at and the OP would update the list accordingly. Basically have a remake of the thread below.

I'd love to see something like this and then have a price range, it was extremely tedious to understand minirank costs thats why I stayed away from them for a long time until I decided I just wanted specific ones and didn't care really how much they were, but tried getting the best price.

i feel like doing something like this would do more harm than good because you can pinpoint minirank prices.
its ment to be sold at whatever price the seller wants to put. supply and demand sort of status. if you say all pokeballs are worth 10 bucks, nobody would change the price, cant flip, etc.

You can still flip and sell at whatever price you want. You think it's a bad idea for people to have a general idea of what each mini rank is worth? It would not be a set in stone price. Literally just a thread with general idea of prices.

It's true that the price should e flexible, but everyone has to consider the situation as it is currently. The amount of times that people ask what XX minirank is worth is pretty high. And everytime the question is asked, the community always has an answer; it's never a "flexible" answer. I've never seen the question asked and then answered with people saying "We can't give a number. It's flexible."

Therefore, why not just take these numbers and put them in a thread so people don't have to ask anymore. It doesn't affect people's ability to sell and buy at whatever price they like.

it can go in the spam forum, but not in the sand box.

things are worth what people are willing to pay. so a price GUIDE is fine, but we're not stickying anything or making it look official

    Agreed with this.

We probably aren't going to have an official, constantly updated thread about minirank prices because it's hard to keep track of and there really aren't any set prices. If you want to go ahead and make a thread to update it yourself, go for it.

its really tough to say. the rule of thumb for stickies is that they have to be useful. if you manage to make a really complete (ie like chloe's guide to miniranks) guide with really accurate prices that are updated constantly then maybe, but it's easy to see how you might have issues doing this. for example, everyone has incentives to mis-report prices (sellers want them to be artificially high, buyers want them low), and it's tough to validate sales. however if you create a thread and log this to the best of your ability, i see no problem stickying it in the sand box eventually.

im actually going to take back my earlier post. i think the proper place for this thread would be in the sand box, but not miniranks marketplace subforum. i also think that you should use a system similar to the one DGS uses to log record dungeoneering times (see here). essentially, you need picture proof of a trade occurring for a certain minirank at a certain price on a certain date. let me know if you want further advice, but maybe talk to @Chloe about her guide from ages ago. maybe you can work that into your guide and create something really great!

to add to this - i just pm'd matthew asking about making the full list of minirank transactions public. someone could pretty easily write a script that scrapes this list every few hours and pms people involved in the transaction asking them to record their transaction prices in a google doc or some other form that you could monitor. the problem right now is that the vast majority of minirank transactions go unlogged, so this would help drastically

anyway, will report back once i hear more @Top Elite

Just for your convenience; all miniranks can be found via,
user center>perks>minirank directory *all miniranks displayed*

@Superfluous how would that help with prizeboxes etc; or awarded from events etc. as in rare miniranks not yet price known.
