Is Sythe A Free Market or Not?[Suggestion]

So, this is just another personal one from me I'd like to hear some opinons on and (hopefully) change.

Sythe is a free market, we all know this, yet I've been having trouble getting infractions for "spamming", let me show u some of the things I've posted:

Now, let me explain my thought process here, Sythe is a free market right? These infractions are for spamming, when I contacted the moderator(not naming names out of respect), he informed me that he thought I was spamming for postcount.

Now here's my thoughts: I use an auto bumper, I get 80-100+ posts EVERY-DAY, so why on earth would I be posting these for postcount?

Sythes a free market right? I have the right to post my price or advertise my site as long as its on topic(my rs gold site on a gold thread), so why am I being infracted for it?

I had a PM discussion with said moderator, and he told me that "my prices weren't even close", well that doesn't matter does it? the spamming rule isn't there to be enforced because my prices aren't close, its a free market, I should be able to offer $0.01/m if I wanted to.

Note: None of the threads said "price firm" or "if you offer below this u will be reported", every single one was open to negotiation, IF IT HAD I DONT POST, but if they don't say that, its implied that were allowed to offer/neogiate, that's what a market is!

Suggestion: Stop infracting users for posting sites/prices unless the OP says u will be infracted or "firm" or something otherwise related, this practice just damages the market and it is NOT SPAM, offering a price on a thread where theres an implied negotiation is not spam, that's part of the market, OR modify the rules/add a sticky so we know this isn't allowed!

WE WANT MARKET ACTIVITY & COMMUNITY ACTIVITY, THIS IS NOT SPAM, This is just hurting market activity from market users.

Noone wants a bunch of shit posts. If you have a problem with some infractions then contact a different mod and have them give you their opinion on it. If both think it's right then maybe you're wrong?

 

In order to not be reported for spam, you need to include:

1. Your price
2. A contact method

I believe your first two infractions were deserved, but the 3rd one seems a bit off because a ton of people lie about their prices on Sythe and do not get punished for it. I believe you can dispute 1 of the 3 infractions easily. Keep in mind that the suggestions forum is not for complaining, nor disputing infractions. There is no suggestion here, what you're suggesting is already not against the rules as long as you leave a price and contact method.

 

It's not shit posts, I got infracted for spamming which is listed as:
Posting short, unhelpful comments (such as "cool", "nice acc,", "added" etc), including free bumps on other's threads and bumps on stickies

• Posting for the sole purpose of increasing post count

• Posting comments with little to no relevance to the topic

• Creating multiple threads advertising the same thing, regardless of the section

- I was not posting for postcount(90% of others aren't either)
-My comment was relevant
-I was not making a thread
-My comment was not short or unhelpful, it was actually designed to be helpful by listing a place for them to possibly purchase or sell their golds.

I just have an issue when I'm being infracted for something that by the rules is perfectly legal.


If you want to infract for it, change the rules to reflect that or stop infracting please is all I ask.

I get that, but where does it say the price and contact method are required?

My suggestion is to add that or stop infracting for this .

All I want is it to be listed somewhere or stop being punished for, I don't think this is unreasonable to know I might be doing something wrong.

 

When someone lists e.g. 45-50$ (firm) for something and you post 20$ and include a website, that's literal spam/advertisement. Sythe is a free market, but that doesn't mean everyone gets to spam their sites on every post when the OP clearly states their terms. Use the PM system.

 

There were no terms though is my problem, he just listed a price and I offered another, that's neogiation which I'm pretty sure is implied unless otherwise stated right?(ex:I'm firm on this price) I've been using the market a long time and its always been that way.

It doesn't say anywhere to PM them if ur price is different, it doesn't say not to post, it doesn't say anything regarding what these infractions were given for, so I'm suggesting add something or stop infracting for it lolz.


I mean I don't think asking for a sticky or a slight rule modification so we actually know were doing wrong is asking to much here, or stop infracting for it works to.


I hate silent rules, how hard is it to add a sentence or a sticky instead of just infracting?

I Don't think me asking staff to stop enforcing "silent rules" and just write them into the rules or make a sticky so we know is that unreasonable tbh, if it is please let me know and I'll try to reconsider it, but I think this is pretty reasonable honestly tbh, All I'm asking for is something(rule change, sticky) so we KNOW we might be doing something wrong instead of being slapped with an infraction lol.

Not sure the last one was necessary, a lot of people do that including mods. I tend to refrain from posting in those circumstances and pm, but sometimes people don't care to check pm and are only paying attention to their threads. The first two definitely seem like spam related.

 

That's fine, I'm not trying to get these reversed I'm just trying to call staff's attention to the fact people(including myself) keep getting punished for things that aren't even remotely close to the current rules, so I'm trying to get staff to hopefully modify the rules, make a sticky, or don't punish for it.

Just trying to bring awareness to the general issue.


Also I know it could go in feedback, but there is a suggestion here to modify the rules/add a sticky/stop punishing for it so it can go here to(a lot more exposure aswell).

I also don't want other market users to fall into this same trap, how would anybody know this isn't allowed lol?

I'm an extremely heavy market user and I HAD NO IDEA.

 

Another thing as to why your third infraction confuses me; a lot of people still post saying "if you're willing to change rate, message here *insert livechat*". So even if OP says firm, or fixed rates, people will still want to offer their services, and try hussle.

So I don't see why that was infractable. And you're right on that level there is no real understanding of what is and what isn't allowed, but I'm guessing this is under staff discretion?

No support. It might be useful for you to learn and read the rules instead of making a suggestion each time you get in trouble because you didn't read the rules.

 

Well I'd like it to be a listed rule/sticky so I don't end up with 3 infractions I had no idea was illegal under "staff discretion" .

Also I'm 99% sure this violates what sythes free market is, the 3rd especially, let alone the other 2.

If the OP says the price is firm or you're unsure, just send them a PM. It's honestly not that hard.

Use common sense, if someone says the price is xx and you offer 50% lower whilst linking your affiliated website, that's spamming and advertisement.
People who make threads to purchase/sell stuff do it for a reason. They don't want to be buying from sites with too high/unreasonable prices, that's why they post a separate thread with their own prices. They don't need you to post on THERE as well when they're clearly looking for a different price category.

 

So if you post on someones thread telling them to go to XXX site thats an infraction?
