Sythe Programming Group [Anyone can join]

I don't think the problem is that 4 people actually know how to program, but no one is willing to organize and design the bot software.

I've no idea how to program an RS bot, yet I know the syntax and have programmed software in around 11 languages.

When discussing it in the Skype chat, I met several people that know how to program. A few people don't want to contribute code, and no one wants to guide the rest with the project.

The people that don't know how to code should be researching tutorials, and the YouTube channel has potential to help newbies.

I thought that we established that no one, that understands the bots development, was willing to take lead on a project, so we're just using the chat to discuss programming related questions and topics. If someone is willing to step forward on the bot project or ANY major programming project, then I would be willing to contribute myself as a monkey. I'll just need clear instructions on what we're trying to accomplish.

There is a web browser version of Skype that should work on Linux for you and give access to groups. It is in beta phase right now. No guarantees, but a suggestion for you to try.

 

Which is perfectly fine, I never had any intentions on making a bot. it was just sort of thrown out there and then people started trying to get endorsements and all that jazz.

 

Understood. I felt like there was need of clarification for the Skype group member's skill levels. After spending a few weeks in the group, I found your original comment inaccurate.

 

But really can we move to something other than Skype (like our nice discord) so that I can be on at work / on the weekends.

 

You should start a new one on Discord I'll join it, haven't really done anything since I abandoned the IRC daemon I was writing in Golang for fun.

I have the ability to use group chat or whatever on Skype on my Linux, however joining you is something I'd be interested in.

I've always wanted to learn how to program but I have no idea where to start. If you guys don't mind helping a fella out then I am for sure in. Starting on the 12th I will have a lot of free time so this would be great.

I agree. It's much easier for people to join since anyone can pop in at any time.

 

Someone enlighten me on how people get the "techincal core" and the scripting/programming languages ranks.

The programming ranks are basically staff dick sucking to be honest. Not really fairly distributed at all.
