New to Scythe, how to build reputation?

Hey everyone, my name is GorillaMVP! I am relatively new to the Scythe Forums, and looking to get really involved in this community.

What are some ways I can build Reputation and make new friends around here. I am into everything from Runescape to League of Legends to Software and Technology talk

If your looking to gain reputation it would probaly be best and look at the services you can offer here and start from there.


Whether that is selling accounts, doing runescape training, lol boosting ect.

For your first few trades I'd highly recommend looking to the stickies for information on how to stay safe around sythe. And then even after using middlemans for your first few trades to ensure safety while you learn how sythe works.

Heya, I would suggest firstly you 2FA your account. If you haven't already; Sythe Two Factor Authentication Tutorial

Definitely read through the stickies, that is something that will help you build your understanding of Sythe first. Definitely use MiddleMans to stay safe, and to promote a healthy trade. Always ask for a PM to be safe; and always give a PM.

You can make some great friend's through some of our Skype chats. Definitely try get yourself out there.

If you have some money to spare, buy a signature so you can showcase your services, vouches and your name. Look here; Graphics Marketplace sometimes people offer a free service, check the sub-forum.

Don't hesitate to explore the community, and discussions. Get that post count up, but don't spam. As others have said, open a few services to gain some vouches.

Vouch for vouch isn't allowed unless a service is done, please don't promote fake vouching.

 

Sell bonds and do 1-2 hour 07 skilling jobs for free, get 10-20 vouches and $50 donor and ull start being allowed to hold a couple $100+.

People look at amount of vouches, not size anymore.

Sure, it's a very morally wrong way to get vouches, but people will also see the amount that was sold/handle and think of that vouch as a joke. Fake vouching can give new users a false sense of security.
There are lots of ways you can gain legit vouches that will actually look good when you show somebody your vouch page, don't do small trades for no profit, do what you enjoy, make actual profit and your vouches will slowly grow.

There is no rush to gain 500 vouches over night, plus you'll meet new people and gain profit, and in 6 months you'll have a large amount of vouches and you would of had a good time doing so, plus that extra bit of cash goes a long way to helping you with future investments.

Do some services which are low priced and low risk for both parties such as skilling, questing etc.
Gain trust by growing quality vouches and be active around the community.

An alternative I havent yet seen is joining someone else's 'business': Job Listings and User Resumes
What you have to do is deposit a certain amount of RSGP/$ to the owner of the business to be able to work for that person. Once you have done that you can start getting vouches by working for him/her.

Spelling the community name correctly is a good place to start xD

 

First, ask what you have to offer the community? Got gold? Great at doing fire capes? Love skilling/questing? After you've done that, go off and try to offer services at discounted rates to begin your reputation.

Since you're new, people on Sythe will be skeptical of trusting you as it is common on this site for banned scammers to create alt accounts with the intention of scamming. A general rule of thumb I go by is to not go first, or to use a middleman. If you require middleman services, you can find one in the MiddleMan Forums section here. Highly suggest only using MMs with high reputation as people even try to scam in that section as well.
