All You Need To Know About Pokemon GO Gameplay



Pokémon Go is finally here and it’s available on iOS and android devices. This is an augmented reality (AR) game developed by Niantic, Inc. and owned by The Pokémon Company. What’s great about the Pokemon GO gameplay is that it is able to encourage people to get out of their houses, walk around outside and rewards them for doing so. And for those of you who haven’t played this game yet, here are the things you need to know about the pokemon GO gym, the tracking system, Pokemon GO team, and other tips and tricks.


The Tracking System

Get to grips with the tracking system and use it to your advantage. Learn how the tracking system works in the bottom right hand corner of the main map screen, this will help you find the Pokémon that you want. Treat the Pokémon tracker like a 9x9 grid with the top left as the closest and the bottom right as the farthest, this is how you can get a grip on walking towards the Pokémon that you want. Go straight in any direction to start. If the Pokémon moves down one slot, it might be a fluke so be patient. If it dips down 2 or 3 slots, you’re going the wrong way. You’ll double your chances of the Pokémon showing up near you, the tracker must be opened for this to work.


Challenging Gyms

Like in the games, the toughest trainers in the region gather in the gyms. But unlike the games, you can be a gym leader yourself if your Pokémon are strong enough. The pokemon GO gyms are those large red, blue, or yellow landmarks on your map that you won’t be able to interact with until you’re trainer level 5. Once you are level 5 though, and you’re able to choose what team you want to join, you’ll also be able to challenge opposing gyms or train at your own.

If you attack a gym controlled by another Pokemon GO team, you’ll have to start at the bottom battling the weakest Pokémon placed inside that gym. You’ll have to work your way up the ladder until you get to the gym leader. Every time you win against a gym leader, you’ll knock down that gym’s prestige until you kick them out altogether. If you have the strongest Pokémon and with the newly added gym your team controls, you can actually become a gym leader. On the other side of that, if you train a gym in control and defeating that Pokémon placed inside, you’ll actually be able to improve its prestige and make the gym better equipped to fend off challengers. It’s a pretty cool and almost turf war style of conflict and it opens for the truly hardcore Pokémon Go players to get something out of their time spent by potentially able to become pokemon GO gym leaders.

Although the Pokemon GO gameplay encourages the players to get out of their houses while playing, they shouldn’t be too immersed in the game so much that they compromise their own safety. There are reports that some criminals are using the game to rob players at gunpoint. So, have fun but be safe.

Nice! Thank you on behalf of all dummies. The first Pokemon I saw was Bulbasaur but it was on the church territory and I decided not to go for him, unfortunately.

pro tip don't use your stardust to power up pokemon in till your closer to max level. Only use candies for evolutions.
