Does anyone have SEO suggestions?

on topic: i wouldn't put too much effort into social media integration. i know most people want to keep personal life separate from sythe.

 

A quick question. Is there any risk about linking your social media profiles with a website like this? I don't really know much about web security, or personal security online etc.

Somewhat off topic but can we ban the obvious vaders that donate $50 the first day they join, know much more than they should, and immediately start posting in the spam forum. Sure they bring activity but they'll be banned for scamming in a matter of months and I'm sure their would-be victims would appreciate it.

 

Does innocent until proven guilty not apply to them in that case? If I recall correctly cases like that are normally thrown out for lacking "hard evidence".

 

Social media would be nice if Sythe was something people bragged about or were proud to share,as I personally feel like although people on here have obviously made a living, they don't typically share it with IRLs and such.

Personally, think like a RuneScape player. Like I get it we all are RS players, but I'd say a great majority of us on here are not in it just for GP, but IRL money as well. We got to bring regular RS players to this site, so the site needs to be optimized to their needs while also maintaining the black market / craigslist-esque feel there is what we call Sythe. I don't know much about SEOs / barely much, but I know that it has to do with hits on search engines and the goal is for Sythe to be at the top for a lot of RS related searches.

RS players aren't concern with making dollars, they're concerned with bossing, making gold at like 2m per hour rates, and the occasional gold swapping which puts Sythe at I believe the number 3 spot with Bogla & Oakdice above it respectively. There are things that can be done to the site to cater to what I'd believe to be the larger base of RuneScape, but the biggest issue would be getting the Sythe community active in these part of the forums to make Sythe get to the top. Off the top of my head, the only section that caters anything to these types of people are RS3/07 general and Runescape Misc., which the general sections just feel, well, dead in my opinion, and Runescape Misc is just cluttered with gambling, RSPS info, and swapping clans - no guides or anything to assist RuneScape players.

Like I said, I know almost nothing about SEO and how it works, so no flame plz.

 

Could you open up some of the Google Analytics data to some people?

 

I'm not sure if anyone will actually ever use the Share buttons but if they do that would be nice. Won't the server be too much overloaded if you enable alot of add-ons? XenForo does have alot of interesting add-ons though, for example this one seems interesting: Ban Reason In Signature

But yeah there's been alot of suggestions made such as these before probably and it has it's downsides aswell.

There have been countless amount of talk about why someone's banned, where someone is. TBH it could kill the "where has Name gone" thread, but I love that add-on.

 

Social media outside of reddit won't do us much good. We need to target a platform where gaming is the focal point.
