Just curious to see how people play Pokemon Go. Saw a few video's that mentioned buying lucky eggs (not sure, the one which gives +exp) when first starting is good as you will get a lot of experience this way catching new Pokemon's you dont yet have.

So do you guys boost your progression rate by buying stuff with $ or do you play the game without spending a dime?

100% waste of cash. There are too mant pokestops around to spend money.

The only viable reason I could see anyone spending money on the game is for lures or incense. but...... now that I think about it. that wouldnt be too worth it in my opinion, use other peoples lures for free :p

Someone has to buy them :p

Anyway, the day I started, I spent some cash so I could catch up to my friends since I started a day or so after them.

This game is so well-balanced that there should be no reason to use microtransactions unless you're in the middle of nowhere with no Pokestops. Whoever told you to use Lucky Eggs at the beginning was probably just super impatient, there is absolutely no reason to waste a lucky egg at early levels. You get lures and lucky eggs from leveling up. Play the game and you'll do fine :)
