Pretty rare I'd say. You need to have quite a few charmanders for a charmeleon, and then quite a few charmeleons for a Charizard. Unless you're getting really lucky with your pokemon finds it's going to take a while before you see many Charizards, Blastoises and Venesaurs.

 

I'd say just wait it out. How exactly does the fake location thing work? I mean, the game works on real GPS so if you're in Canada wouldn't it tell? Unless you're talking about using like a jailbreak GPS to go anywhere you want, which I've heard of people doing.

Also you should note that this app KILLS battery and data. It'll take out a percentage or more of battery probably every minute. Thank God (or my parents) that I have unlimited data.

I'm confident they're gonna be coming out with consistent updates. Niantic is really good with that kind of stuff.

Also, a 525 Jolteon in the wild is pretty awesome. Shouldn't complain.

Finding Pokemon is based on your avatar level and RNG. If you want to get a Charizard, you need to evolve your Charmander to a Charmeleon using 25 Charmander Candy (you gain 3 candy for every charmander you catch and 1 candy for every charmander you release). If I'm not mistaken Charmeleon to Charizard is 50 charmander candy? I could be wrong, it might be 100 candy, but 50 sounds more reasonable. I'm not sure because I only have a CP 203 Charmander with 8 candies, so I won't be evolving a Charizard for a while, unless I catch one in the wild.

 

Any word on it being released in EU? People here have been dying to get their hands on the game but no success so far, including me.

 

I used to have an app that fakes the location of my phone and I could set it to whatever I want. So I could see people doing this to catch pokemon at the white house for example. But it is really detectable so people would probably get banned for doing it.

 

I get shitloads of Pidgeys and Rattatas, quite a few Weedle, and like no Caterpies. I have over 70 pidgey candies and over 75 rattata candies. I have a TON of ratticates now, and I'm not too sure what to do with the pidgey candies. Tbh I don't think it's worth it to waste them all on evolving pidgey to pidgeotto then release, because you can actually get an insanely strong pidgeot if evolved correctly. For example, at level 9 I caught a CP 173 pidgey, which would probably evolve into a CP 300-350 pidgeotto, which would then evolve into a CP 500-600+ pidgeot, which would do for quite a strong and easy to acquire pokemon on your team. You can then use that pidgeot as a pretty decent gym placeholder since most people just starting the game are getting normal or bug type pokemon.

I just reached level 10 so I'm going to go searching tomorrow, hopefully catch a 200-300 pidgey then evolve that to a pidgeot.

I'm still not sure how that would work since you need to be actively walking to specific locations in order to catch certain pokemon, since the pokemon in every location are seeable by everyone else at that location.

But yeah, if it's detectable don't risk it. Just wait for the international release when it's all bug free and the servers work properly. It's not like we're having the time of our lives here in the U.S, as the glitches can be quite unbearable sometimes.

Let's put it this way, it isn't even released in Japan yet...
