The team based objectives are very similar to TF2 though lol

But I do like the different classes

Like I said, I've taken a break from CSGO and LoL for this now

Definitely do wish communication was more like it is in CS at least, however the quality in Overwatch isn't the best anyway

Same here. I've had so many games where I'm with a friend in Teamspeak and I'm calling out info in game, wondering why nobody is replying, only to realize towards the end of the match that I never switched over to team voice chat. lol.

 

I'm hoping for another random weekly brawl, or even seeing it incorporated as a game mode. I love just messing around and it forces me to play heroes I wouldn't normally against players who are also doing the same thing, can figure things out faster this way imo.

Has anyone been playing ranked recently? I played my placements and got put into rank 54 but I think I'm going to hold off before trying to climb. My games have unfortunately just been filled with AFK leavers. The system definitely needs to be more harsh on people that abandon games, I think it happened in 4/10 of my placement matches. The worst AFK I had so far was when someone left 4 rounds into the game. Luckily it was sudden death and we cheesed a round of defense on Temple of Anubis or that whole match would have been lost solely because one person dipped out.

 

I need this game but I can't bust $60 for it. None on Craigslist in my local area. Any suggestions on where I could find one for ~$40 that I could pick up within the next day or two? eBay is probably my best bet but I hate the wait time.

 

The game itself is $40. They just try to sell you some special edition for $60 but you can just get the $40 version instead.

 

Origins Edition was the only thing I can find at GameStop and practically anywhere. It should be noted that I own an Xbox One if that changes anything.

Anyways, just my luck someone updated Craigslist a few minutes after I posted my question and it was as if they saw my post lmao. Just picked it up for $40. Installing right now. Get hype son.

I've been playing a lot recently, nearing 200 games.

I had 2 leavers in my placements, and placed rank 48 for a 4-6 or something.

My rank constantly goes between 45-50 or so. I think I'm in the right place for my skills, as people seem to be not much better or worse than I am. Only thing that pisses me off is LEAVERS.

 

Agreed, they really need to make harsher leaver penalties. I've had AFK's/ DC's / leavers in the majority of my games and it just skews everything. You lose the normal amount of rating if you lose a 5v6, but if you win a 5v6 you gain a reduced amount. Overall I feel like you end up losing more than you gain and it makes climbing incredibly frustrating.

 

Anyone got any basic strategies they want to share?

I've been playing a lot of Zenyatta, Mercy, Bastion, and Reinhardt. I can't seem to really enjoy playing any offensive characters as I just have difficulty focusing on the objectives when I'm offense. It's so much more rewarding playing as support.

A strategy I've noticed works pretty well is coordinating with another friend/player as Torbjorn with turrets near spawn, while 2 offense rush spawn, and a Bastion defends. The enemy team would have to first break through the offensive attackers, then make it past Bastion, and finally break through both turrets; all of this has to be done before the first wave of attackers that were killed make it back from spawn. It's a pretty dope strategy and works really well if you have a team with mics or if you're playing with friends.

 

Pick up tracer and harass them as they are leaving their spawn. Most Champs cannot out duel you and if they ignore you you will straight up kill them.

If they're Reinhart is not helping take the objective their team is losing.


Also learn counters and watch some professional games

 

Tracer was next on my list to pick up since I needed an offensive character and I got one of the most expensive skins from a loot box I'll keep that in mind.

 

Also I'm assuming you already have done this but it's good to keep in mind for tracer/other mobile people

Go into custom games and figure out exactly the layout of each map and where each health pack spawn is. With tracers dash you can leap over gaps realistically only pharah should be able to cross.
