first speeding ticket

got hit with the $138 for going like 28 over

have u guys had any, how fast were u going, and how much $$$

 

I've had two. Dispute the ticket

Before you pay it; research online the specific laws in your area.

See if he gave you the minimum amount.

Make sure the ticket is signed or it may not be valid in some places.

Reschedule your court date as much as possible; Seriously, there has been cases thrown out because the cop has moved to a different place.

There are some Lawyers who will come to court and win you the case for the price of the ticket (so you dont get points against your license)


Also look at what you can dispute in court. Was there heavy traffic? What type of speed detection was he using? Did he have a clear line of sight on you?

 

Someone I know was going 90 on a 65, got lucky he got hit with a $600 ticket but didn't get arrested.

 

Going 25 over is nothing. Unless he was doing it in a heavily crowded place and putting people at risk I don't think he would have been arrested.


You can dispute most tickets and end up paying like $100 and saving yourself a few bucks.

I have surprisingly never gotten a speeding ticket. I've only been pulled over once and that was just a warning for not having my head lights on at night as soon as I pulled out of a parking lot at uni.

 

It was on the freeway in the middle of the night, like 2 a.m. xD.
Cop was hiding like a little bitch

 

I got a $200 ticket for going 32 mph over before. I had just slowed down from going about 65 mph over the limit, too.

 

I got a 520$ ticket for going 32 km/h over the limit. And another one for 480$ for going 28 km/hour over the limit.

Tickets are super expensive in the province I got them in lol which I travel through frequently for work.
