Cool orb tut

Glass Orb
Here is a quick and easy way to create those realistic looking glass orbs that you see everywhere.
Start of with a blank canvas 150x150 pixels. Create a new layer and fill it in with black (#000000).
Time to make a lens flare. Filter -> Render -> Lens Flare Put brightness to 100%, and set the lens type to 105mm prime and click ok.
Now go to filter -> Distort -> Polar Coordinates and choose Polar to Rectengular. Now we need to flip the image, to do this go to Edit -> Transform -> Flip Vertically.
Now go to Filter -> Distort -> Polar Coordinates again, this time select Rectengular to Polar, click ok. Now we need to cut out the orb you made. To do this select the eliptical marquee tool and make a selection around your orb. Now press CTRL+Shift+i to invert your selection, press delete to delete the excess around your orb.
Now all you need to do is change the color of your orb and it's finished. To do so go to image -> adjust -> color balance. That's it, your finished.

how do you do that ctrl+shift+i part can you take a pic of which thing i use for it cause i get a circile but it either goes a blig black circle or its a new layer help

were do i get the circle tool thing to make it look like a circle.. i have PhotoShop 5.0 limeted edition or whatever

 

Sweet, I'd try it but i use GIMP so i can only do it if i find a GIMP tut. but good job
