Twitter database hacked | Change your password

Maybe a little bit late since it happend about 4 days ago, but the Twitter Database got hacked and the information out of it is being sold on Dark Web Marketplaces. So forever on here who uses Twitter aswell it might be smart to change your Twitter password to avoid getting hacked and/or to avoid database linking.

Sorry if this has already been posted, but for some reason I didn't manage to find out about this untill now so maybe others are just like me .

Someone got my information and attempted to log into my logmein account... No idea why as I haven't used it in years.

Scary tho.

 

That would explain celebrities getting hacked. Eh.. I'm so lazy lol. I figured it was something like this, thanks though.

 

I don't think anyone is going to want my shitty twitter account so i'll pass on changing the password because effort, this is insane though.

 

The database leak from what i gathered was only around 33M passwords, incredibly small leak for a social media platform as large as twitter. I would still recommend changing your password to something other than "123456"..

The accounts they hacked have millions of followers which are virtually worth millions in advertising.

However, definitely wouldn't hurt to change your password if you're worried about it. Personally I have 2FA on almost everything which makes me feel safe.

 

Source? All the Twitter hackings I've seen have been from poor user security, not Twitter being compromised.

 

The twitter database was not compromised they people who had there information leaked were infected with malware and the malware saved every username and password and that what was leaked. I have cheaked my accounts with leaksource mine wasn't at all so it deffo wasn't a database leak or my info would be there.

 

if you actually use google and lookup the incident you'd have to be one of the 33 million.

Yeah pretty sure if it was serious we would know more. I don't think Twitter is dumb enough to hide something like this.

 

Recently the NFL twitter was hacked so I'm not sure maybe it is connected somehow?

 

Strange that a major hack only stole 33M passwords? I don't have a Twitter, but seeing all these recent hackings always seems crazy to me.

I highly doubt twitter stores passwords, but then again i've seen some pretty big companies do just that like Sony lol
