computer boots mouse/monitor does not work $5 reward

Ok so before all this happened my cpu was overheating and it wouldnt get past the boot screen. While trying to solve the issue I broke one of the intel fan pins (they are built in a way that makes the brake easily) I bought a new fan plugged it in booted everything up but the monitor mouse and keyboard would not work.

Here are some things I tried:

Using another CPU
Using another motherboard
Replacing and trying different ram sticks x3
Using a different PSU, although the psu I usually use is 300w and the other I tried was 500, I'm not sure if that makes a difference, if a 300w one would work, they were both 230v either way.
Using a different HDD
Doing CMOS
Unplugging the computer and holding down the power button for 30 seconds
Testing the monitor and mouse/keyboard on a laptop (they work)

I think that is everything I tried I cannot remember more, if anyone knows a solution I will pay $5.

Skipped over that >_< OP, what motherboard do you have? Do you have your onboard speaker plugged in? Do you hear any beeps coming from it when booting? Do you have a different GPU lying around? Try removing your GPU and using your onboard graphics as thats the only thing you didn't try yet.

I can only assume you damaged something when installing the new CPU fan, check for bent pins on your motherboard or CPU. Do all the fans spin when you first press the power?

Also, make sure you have all your motherboard mounts properly installed, and make sure you dont have any screws or metal left behind inside of your case causing a short.

 

Motherboard is nothing special, ASUS P8H61-MX USB3. in order to hear beeps do I have to plug in speakers or should it do it automatically?

I dont use a graphics card just whatever is built in. I do have some lying around do you think it would be worth testing out it with them plugged in?

Fans spin everything sounds like its working to me.

Finally what do you mean motherboard mounts installed properly, thanks for helping hope your next response solves my problem

It's basically to make sure your motherboard doesn't directly come into contact with your case.

it connects directly to your motherboard and only beeps. Different beeps mean different things but if you don't have one connected already then nevermind.

 

I've had this issue before with drivers. Try finding a PS/2 connector for your keyboard/mouse. I had to borrow an old mouse and keyboard from an uncle, but they worked instantly after plugin while USB did not.

 

What is/was your thermal paste situation? I know you said you tried a different motherboard, but if you tried it with the old CPU then you'd get poor results if the CPU fried as a result of thermal stress. Are you sure you applied it properly? You might just be dealing with bum components if they got fried from heat.
